Is trading amnesty for immigration enforcement a wise idea? (DREAMers, Trump Wall) - 09/04/17

The idea of trading amnesty for immigration enforcement is in fact a very dumb idea. It's also completely unnecessary to achieve the goal it's supposedly designed to achieve. If Donald Trump made such a deal, we'd end up getting amnesty and little or no enforcement. That's what happened after the 1986 amnesty, and nothing fundamentally has changed.

Open Complaint about EPA linking to Breitbart - 09/03/17

To: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Inspector General (OIG_Hotline at epa.gov) This is a complaint about the "News Releases from Headquarters" from the "Office of the Administrator" entitled "EPA Response To The AP's Misleading Story" (link).

Trump can't understand a very powerful immigration argument (related to an Australian refugee policy; Turnbull transcript) - 08/03/17

Australia has the fairly smart policy of not accepting refugees who arrive by boat [1]. Based on the leaked transcript of a call between Donald Trump and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Trump is incapable of wrapping his mind around that policy.

Trump starts "Made In America Week" by increasing foreign workers H-2B visas by 15,000 - 07/17/17

From [1]: The Department of Homeland Security on Monday announced a one-time increase of 15,000 additional visas for low-wage seasonal workers for the remainder of this fiscal year, a seeming about-face from President Trump's "Hire American" rhetoric, following heavy lobbying from fisheries, hospitality and other industries that rely on temporary foreign workers. The increase represents a 45 percent bump from the number of H-2B visas normally issued for the second half of the fiscal year, said senior Homeland Security officials in a call with reporters.

Win the Future will fail, what to do instead - 07/04/17

Win the Future is a new group to "rethink" and "hack" the Democratic Party [1]. Those involved are at [2]. I'll describe how they'll fail and what they should do instead. From the link:

Trump admits again his travel ban endangered the USA - 06/26/17

The Supreme Court is temporarily allowing parts of Trump's travel/Muslim ban to continue. In response, the Donald Trump administration has released a statement including an unwitting admission that Trump's actions made the USA less safe:

The Supreme Court has partly reinstated Donald Trump's travel ban, aka the Muslim Ban. This is just a temporary decision; they'll make a final decision in the Fall. In response, the Trump administration has unwittingly admitted once again that Trump's actions have made the USA less safe. From this, bolding added:

#TMAWTUT: Ten Minutes A Week To Undercut Trump - 06/17/17

#TMAWTUT means "Ten Minutes A Week To Undercut Trump". It's a series of small campaigns everyone can help with and that require very little time commitment. You can oppose Trump in other ways the rest of the time, all we ask is ten minutes (or less!) per week.

Trump continues Obama's DACA for DREAMers. How patriotic Trump fans can respond. - 06/16/17

In a move that won't surprise anyone who's been reading this site, the Donald Trump administration has decided to continue Barack Obama's "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals" ("DACA") program. Obama created that program when he wasn't able to pass the DREAM Act; DACA was Obama's amnesty-by-fiat for hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens. DACA is horrible public policy that harms American students and workers and foreign countries. And, Trump is continuing it.

Donald Trump finally makes a smart argument against mass immigration - 05/21/17

After nearly two years of intensely stupid plans and arguments about immigration that - as reality demonstrates - would only work if the world were run by Breitbart News, Donald Trump has finally made a smart argument against mass immigration. If he repeats it without junking it up, he could use it to finally do a national service and undercut those who support mass refugee resettlement and mass immigration in general. That's, of course, a tall order: Trump and his fan club have consistently helped the wrong side in various ways.

Breitbart downplays Trump congratulating Erdogan's win - 04/18/17

From "Trump Congratulates Erdogan on Turkey Vote Cementing His Rule" [1]: President Trump called President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey on Monday to congratulate him on winning a much-disputed referendum that will cement his autocratic rule over the country and, in the view of many experts, erode Turkey’s democratic institutions.

L.A. Times Editorial Board has ineffective Trump tantrum - 04/03/17

One of the ways Donald Trump won and continues to find support is "epater les bohemes": doing things that shock and outrage the elites and their helpers and provoke them into throwing tantrums. That increases his popularity among the tens of millions who don't like the elites and their helpers. Trump is like the Three Stooges; his loudest opponents are like the pompous oafs. His supporters drink deep at the well of the elites' tears.

Trump's "Last night in Sweden": is he lying or confused? - 02/19/17

Kremlinology is about determining what rational actors are doing. Trumpology is about determining what a crazy or thinks-he's-crazy-like-a-fox actor is doing. The latest example occurred at Donald Trump's rally in Melbourne, Florida yesterday where he said, among a great many other things, this:

CIS unwittingly shows how Trump's travel ban won't work ("72 Terrorists" study) - 02/12/17

Jessica Vaughan of the Center for Immigration Studies offers "Study Reveals 72 Terrorists Came From Countries Covered by Trump Vetting Order" [1]. Her goal is to show that Donald Trump's travel ban (or Muslim ban) will help keep the U.S. safe.

The profound immigration question Trump supporters can't answer (Robert Merry) - 02/07/17

At the American Conservative, Robert Merry posts "A Profound Question Behind the Immigration Debate" (link). Behind the sturm und drang that greeted President Trump’s recent executive action on refugees lies the broader issue of U.S. immigration policies over the past half-century. And behind those immigration policies lies a profound question facing Americans: what kind of country do they want their country to be? ...

Yesterday, an appearance at University of California at Berkeley by Breitbart News lightweight provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos was canceled after far-left, anti-speech activists got violent (link):

Lee Stranahan spins Trump's weak-on-terrorism Muslim ban (Breitbart) - 01/29/17

Trump's Pravda - aka Breitbart News - has a series of posts frantically trying to explain away the mess that Donald Trump and their former CEO Steve Bannon have created with Trump's Muslim ban.

Downsides of Trump's Muslim ban and the smart alternative - 01/29/17

Donald Trump and his advisors Steve Bannon and Stephen Miller have created a royal mess with an Executive Order that halts certain types of travel and immigration to the U.S. The Order has set off protests at airports across the U.S. and has been partly put on hold by a federal judge.

Byron York on Trump's immigration actions - 01/27/17

This page is part of the Trump Supporters on His Immigration Actions series. If Donald Trump's immigration actions work out, then we'll know who to thank. However, if - as is much more likely - Trump uses his immigration actions as a prelude to amnesty or his actions get tied up in the courts for years, we'll know who to blame.

Steve Sailer and readers on Trump's immigration actions - 01/26/17

This page is part of the Trump Supporters on His Immigration Actions series. If Donald Trump's immigration actions work out, then we'll know who to thank. However, if - as is much more likely - Trump uses his immigration actions as a prelude to amnesty or his actions get tied up in the courts for years, we'll know who to blame.

Trump orders construction on border wall; pulls grants from Sanctuary Cities; restores 287g and Secure Communities. But... - 01/25/17

In a test of whether the lunkhead, Breitbart News way of opposing illegal immigration will work, Donald Trump signed two executive orders today dealing with illegal immigration.

Trump doesn't even know our form of government; it's not "democracy" - 01/22/17

In a tweet today, Donald Trump said [1]: Peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even if I don't always agree, I recognize the rights of people to express their views. That followed by an hour or so this earlier tweet [2]: Watched protests yesterday but was under the impression that we just had an election! Why didn't these people vote? Celebs hurt cause badly.

Immigration gets short shrift at Trump's initial WhiteHouse.gov - 01/20/17

Immigration is the most vital domestic issue because it impacts everything else in the U.S. It's also the issue that helped elect Donald Trump. Yet the initial version of WhiteHouse dot gov doesn't highlight it. The Trump version of the site is very barebones and that might change, but if it were truly a key issue for Trump he'd put it front and center.

Jeff Sessions won't oppose DREAM Act in smart ways - 01/10/17

As you can see on the DREAM Act page, there are valid arguments against that anti-American bill, arguments that can be used to show its supporters wrong. There are also much better ways to deal with "DREAMers" than to allow them to remain in the U.S., and arguments for that can also be used to undercut those who support the DREAM Act and its implementation-by-executive-fiat, DACA.

Remember how four blacks tortured a white special needs victim on Facebook video over Trump? - 01/05/17

Four blacks have been arrested in Chicago for torturing a white special needs victim live on Facebook video. They've now been charged with a "hate crime" (link). They may have also kidnapped the victim and if that charge is made and it sticks they could be looking at long prison sentences.

The Indivisible Guide (to continuing to help Trump) - 01/03/17

A group of former Congressional staffers [1] have penned the "Indivisible Guide" [2], a document purporting to describe how to oppose Donald Trump. And they're in never-never land because they don't know what's going to happen."
