Mexican consuls to increase push for amnesty (propaganda, anti-defamation)

From this:
Note that those linked to the IME were also involved in organizing the big Chicago immigration marches, and one IME member is even an Illinois state senator (Martin Sandoval).
It would be nice to get a full list of those attending the MC meeting; for now, this is the only other one mentioned:
The Mexican government is giving its consulates in the U.S. wide latitude to ramp up a campaign to toughen their defense of immigrants and plans to give them more resources as well, officials familiar with the strategy said.As indeed it should be.
...Among the actions under discussion are the creation of an anti-defamation league similar to that focused on protecting Jews; budget increases for some of the 47 consulates, especially in regions such as North Texas, where Mexican migration has been swift and plentiful; and a media campaign aimed at counteracting groups opposed to illegal immigration and sometimes legal immigration.
..."Our fight is no longer inside the Beltway," said one senior Mexican official, who agreed to speak only on condition of anonymity. "We have been forced to change our strategy."
...Nearly two dozen U.S.-based immigrant leaders, including North Texans, flew to Mexico City recently [around Sept. 15] to meet with senior officials of the Foreign Ministry and the Interior Ministry to discuss the strategy. The Foreign Ministry and its Institute for Mexicans Abroad, or IME, is carrying out the government's plan.
Mario Ramirez, a Dallas businessman and Mexican immigrant who attended the meeting, said he knows his loyalty to the U.S., as a naturalized citizen, will be questioned.
Note that those linked to the IME were also involved in organizing the big Chicago immigration marches, and one IME member is even an Illinois state senator (Martin Sandoval).
It would be nice to get a full list of those attending the MC meeting; for now, this is the only other one mentioned:
Primitivo Rodriguez, a Mexico City resident ... coordinator of the Coalition for the Political Rights of Mexicans Abroad, which has members in Chicago, Los Angeles and Houston.

Sounds like Mexico has developed a new sense of urgency in their war against America. Wonder what changed?

Is anybody else seeing tv ads in their area where a "promising latino teenager" is paired with a Hispanic Congressmen? It is calling for folks to visit a website. I imagine at the website you will be asked to sign a petition requesting that hispanics will recieve federal aid so they may attend college. I have not checked out the website in question but it appears to be a front promoting the Dream Act. Any insights. Is this an example of a campaign being coordinated by the Institute for Mexicans Abroad??

Lonewacko, The stories of how the Mexican, Indian, and Chinese governments are all trying to influence our politicians through conections with their illegal and legal immigrant communities become a major issue next year watch out. Given how badly the 2006 IME orchestrated mass demostrations blew up in the Open Borders lobby's faces, moblizing the Immigration Restrictionist movement, I think things will only get more intense in 2008. Like I have been saying expect things to get ugly at the Democratic 2008 convention. What remains of the blue collar Democratic base is not going to tolerate this nonsense and see their economic future disappear. Nor do I believe working and middle class Republicans are going to vote for a Open Borders candidate just because he is "Pro-Life".

Edward, They are desparate because they know that 3-4 pro Open Borders Republicans are in deep trouble or resigning. The loyal Bushie Red State Closet Cases Graham, McConnell and of course Craig could all be gone next year. Replace them with a Restrictionist Republican or even Democrat and the Open Borders movement has lost much of its advantage in the Senate. It would now be high vulnerable to filibuster. The Open Borders/Cheap Labor lobby is going all out to promote Hillary. Personally, speaking as a Democrat, the more closely Hillary alligns herself with the Open Borders, "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" agenda the more likely she is going to go the way of Dukakis in 1988, the mother of all trainwrecks.

_...and plans to give them more resources as well,..._ Maybe if the Mexican government had done that while the "immigrants" were back in Mexico they'd never have left.

If the Mexican government would put half the effort into fixing their own goddam country that they do trying to get our politicians to bend to their will, there'd be no need for them to export their people. This is war of a very unconventional sort, and our political elites refuse to see it because they and the people whose bidding they do are making too much money from it.
