A challenge for Larry O'Connor of Hot Air

Dear Larry OConnor of HotAir:

I'm writing about your post "8 minutes of shame: Reporters covering Hillary embarrass profession with softball questions". In it you say:

You'd think journalists wanting to grill Clinton on issues ranging from the State Department IG report to a new book featuring a former Secret Service agent’s damning recollections of his time covering the Clintons in the White House would e sure to throw some tough questions at the woman who wants to be president.

You’d be wrong.

Actually, I wouldn't ever think that. I've known for many years that reporters don't want to rock the boat and ask tough questions. That includes not just journalists from NPR, CNN, and so on, but also those from Fox News, Breitbart, and other conservative sites.

Unlike you, Larry, I've been attempting to do something about that. For instance, I just posted about Dan Merica of CNN and Tamara Keith of NPR, both of whom you quoted on your blog post as asking Hillary very weak questions. Not unsurprisingly, you didn't mention their names. That means your post is just entertainment for your echo chamber: it will have zero impact on anything NPR, CNN, and other outlets do.

My challenge for you is: help me change that. What I want you to do is to help me conduct a campaign to discredit Keith and Merica: make those who support them realize that they're just courtiers, not journalists. They might wise up and start asking real questions or at least that will send a message to other reporters and encourage them to start asking real questions.

You want Hillary to be asked tough questions, so that serves what you claim to want. Will you help with that campaign?
