Yes, the New Left and Hard Left have taken over what ever parts of the Democratic Party that were not totally corrupted by K-Street. But don't panic. No Universal Healthcare Insurance that that includes illegal aliens and those on "non-immigrants" resident visas (H1-Bs, H2s, L1s TNs), either outright or by means of intentional non-enforcement of qualification criteria, will pass. Critical independent, moderate Republicans and many mainstream Democratic voters are already screaming as they get a first glance at the projected budget numbers. Working Americans simply do not want to further subsidize their displacement in the labor market and an even worse illegal and legal immigrant baby boom. On the other hand nor will any Public Option plan that includes a credible verification bar restricting illegal aliens be proposed. The Hispanic Caucus will not allow it. Lifelong moderate Democrats and old school liberals have been arguing these points with the New Lefties and Obamabots for years now. No workable Healthcare reform is possible with out real labor force supply management. That includes both illegal and legal immigration. As George Borjas points out that is one critical aspect about Canada that the American Left leaves out when discussing the expansion of the welfare state. Obama is floundering as president.
