Fox September 5, 2007 GOP debate live coverage

I missed most of the first part, but even without seeing the transcript I can tell it was just as horrible as the past debates.

The question isn't, "how can you not call it amnesty". That allowed Giuliani to side-step the question and McCain to break out his dictionary and then launch into a speech. The question should be, "won't it be perceived as an amnesty by millions around the world?"

In his earlier questions, Brit Hume played the same game (I'm going to assume he's in on the game). He brought out Romney's lawn care issue and others knowing full well the responses he'd receive: speeches.

If you want to get real answers, please go to campaign appearances with a video camera and ask real questions, not the fluffballs from Hume and others.

UPDATE: I did not know that! NYC was one of the safest large cities, and Rudy was the mayor of New York City! (Please moderators: just let Rudy give the same speech over and over.)

The boys in Washington have a dictionary but its in "MEXICAN", The system wants the ways of evil and like in Mexico City it will get what it wants, its normal when most of the boys want young boys if you know what I mean? Amnesty is just one more word for the North American Union, McCain is our real enemy.

The applause for Tancredo, Paul, and (less so) Hunter was encouraging. What they said made sense and people responded more favorably to them than to the platitudes and hand waving from the others. Rudy and McCain are essentially twins separated at birth. For those concerned about the invasion the first part was the best part. To FOX's credit they at least served the questions. The one from the NH cop who said they were "overwhelmed in the streets" "by immigrants" was priceless. Nobody wants to deal with the fundamental question: how is legalizing these people going to solve anything? What I still cannot get over is how absolutely clueless so many of these Rs are about the invasion. They chuckled several times at Paul, but as far as I'm concerned they're the insane ones.

Video of the question [1], the answers, and my take.

Tahnk you tanstaafl that is great but the fact is many of the power people want mass-invasion and people who don't want to become a third world hell must at some point stand and fight back in the old ways of freedom, if you know what i mean? Bush is Bin Laden and bush is Mexico.

I know what you mean Fred. But cooling off in Fed prison as some invader's bitch isn't my idea of productive.
