24Ahead reaches seven years of being better than everyone else

The very first post on the modern incarnation of this site was almost exactly seven years ago. And, from the very beginning until now, this site has always been better than any other site out there. While you the reader pause and think through all the sheer enlightenment that this site has brought you over the years, let me briefly recount some of the highlights:

* 2000 or so (pre-history): I started this as an outdoors site for trip reports at the original domain lonewacko.com; there was nothing political about it...

* 2001 (pre-history): Collaborating with Amanda Marcotte and with Al Franken as an advisor, I briefly transformed the site into a Maoist-focused dialectical hub to fight the oppression of the Patriarchy...

* September 22, 2002: Realizing that the Maoism thing wasn't working out, I launched the modern version of this site. "Blogging" was just starting - at least under that name - and I originally started this site as a satire of "bloggers"...

* Politics slowly became the focus of this site, but also with the occasional bout of "wacky" "humor"...

* A thousand posts (or so) later in February 2004, I wrote this post detailing all the accomplishments of this site until that time.

Nowadays, of course, this is a site and not a "blog". It just looks like the latter. And, yes, we've had some accomplishments since then, but everyone knows about those already so there's no need to repeat ourselves.
