This is my one-thousandth post

America pauses and reflects on 17 months of The Lonewacko Blog.

My persistent coverage of the illegal immigration scam.

My four-month, 10000-mile Blogging Across America tour that saw me drive from L.A. to the easternmost point in the U.S. in Maine, and back.

The first blogger to do live guest blogging.

Coining the term "Obsessive-Compulsive Blogging Disorder".

The first blogger to go to a "peace" protest and come back with pictures.

The first blogger to cover a Sidney Blumenthal book signing.

The only blogger to climb the Third Flatiron. In fact, one of the few bloggers who actually goes outside.

My Janeane Garofalo obsession.

The only blogger to meet both KTTV's Christina Gonzalez and KTLA's Walter Richards. The latter in the parking lot of the El Pollo Loco near USC.

The only blogger to have held a big, homemade styrofoam donut suspended on a pole over the course in order to have a bit of fun with the runners in the L.A. Marathon.

The only blogger to have been hugged by Edward James Olmos. It was a manly, macho hug. Yes, it was pre-blog, but it was still inspirational.

So, America, pause, reflect, and thank your lucky stars for The Lonewacko Blog. And, hit the tip jar while you're at it.

Thank you, and you're welcome.

Congrats. Though, your comment field seems to be very lonely of late.
