At the height of the Ebola crisis in 2014, the elites were very keen on not putting significant travel restrictions in place. Instead, the most that happened was that inbound travelers who might have been infected were given cursory examinations at U.S. airports. Obama and other leaders implemented that policy, but it was clear that the whole establishment didn't want significant travel restrictions.

Jeffrey M. Drazen M.D. - Harvard University professor and editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine - joins several of his colleagues in offering the deceptive editorial "Ebola and Quarantine" [1]. I'll briefly quote the editorial and then describe how it's misleading. The full list of authors of the editorial is at [2]. First, here's part of what they say:

The only way to stop the spread of the Ebola virus is temporary travel restrictions from the affected area to other countries. Those who must return to the U.S. need to be quarantined for the incubation period of the virus. Otherwise, there will be more cases in the U.S.
