Susan Carroll of Houston Chronicle promotes anti-American DREAM Act (PIIPP)

Susan Carroll of the Houston Chronicle offers "Noncitizen grads pin hopes on DREAM Act" (chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/7029415.html), a cookie-cutter propaganda piece designed to support that anti-American bill. The bill she promotes would allow illegal aliens to take college educations away from needy U.S. citizens, but she doesn't reveal that fact (see the DREAM Act page for the details). In fact, in 21 paragraphs, she only includes one-and-a-half paragraphs from the American side:

But there is opposition to the proposal by anti-illegal immigration groups and some members of Congress, who have called it a mini-amnesty that could lead to fraud... In an opinion piece for The Hill, U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith, R-San Antonio, recently called the DREAM Act a "nightmare for the American people."

Susan Carrol doesn't explain why it's a nightmare, nor does she raise his points to the supporters she quotes. What little contrary information she presents is wrapped inside an attempt to pull heartstrings in support of a bill that would deprive U.S. citizens of college.

Not only that, but this is just the latest example of cookie-cutter articles that follow the same pattern. If you trust Susan Carroll's reporting (or that of the Houston Chronicle as a whole), compare her report to the others listed on the PIIPP page.
