There's a Pepsi tag because early in 2009 they tried to glom on to Obamamania, choosing political sides and unfortunately not apparently suffering a backlash. I likewise don't expect much of a backlash from their latest: an attempt at encouraging Hispanics - and not those of other races or ethnicities - to participate in the Census (site: pepsiyosumo.com, report: link):

Pepsi's pro-Obama Superbowl commercial - 02/02/09
The following ad from Pepsi - which ran during the Superbowl/Big Game yesterday - is one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen.
UPDATE: It has come to my attention that this is not a real ad but is simply a satire. It's so easy to get confused these days.
Pepsi's "Dear Mr. President"/"Refresh Everything" campaign fizzles, goes flat - 01/17/09
Whether because they're "liberals" or just because they think fans of Barack Obama are their demographic, Pepsi (PepsiCo) has started a new ad campaign called "Refresh Everything" in which celebrities and supposed regular citizens upload open video letters to Obama entitled "Dear Mr. President" (refresheverything.com). Apparently they looked at the fact that Obama is little more than a marketed product and decided to piggyback on his successful campaign, trying to reach out to the same gullible people.
