Tucson's Last Stand: tea party October 10 2009 (sadly, not at Galt's Gulch)
On Saturday, October 10 2009, the Tucson Tea Party group will be holding "Tucson's Last Stand" at Electric Park where they will be offering nationally renowned speakers, local talk radio hosts, and political candidates who will engage the audience in order to galvanize them to political action and donate to win elections.
That's going to be a bit difficult due to the fact that they just do not have the numbers. See the tea parties summary for an extensive summary of their electoral and other problems. And, due to the fact that many of their leaders and many of their followers are imbued with libertarian principles (such as they are), they aren't opposing attempts by the Democrats to import voters. Those leaders and followers aren't able to figure out the role that massive/illegal immigration plays in the problems they whine and throw tantrums about.
Those attending include Judge Andrew Napolitano; his position on immigration (if he has one) isn't known. Another is Barry Goldwater Jr. Despite his cousin Don being smeared in an attempt to support illegal immigration, he supports illegal immigration for business reasons [1]. The other name is JD Hayworth, who does seem to oppose illegal immigration. Despite the last, don't expect them to highlight the role that immigration matters play in what they whine about.
