Anti-American Mitt Romney smears half the U.S. as welfare queens at millionaire's meeting

[SEE IMPORTANT UPDATE BELOW]

The video below [1] shows Mitt Romney speaking at a meeting of potential donors and turning his back on half the U.S. His comments are truly anti-American: he's smearing half the U.S. as welfare queens and moochers.

Here's a transcript of the video:

There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what

And I mean the president starts out with 48, 49... he starts off with a huge number. These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax. So our message of low taxes doesn't connect. So he'll be out there talking about tax cuts for the rich. I mean, that's what they sell every four years.

And so my job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to convince the five to ten percent in the center that are independents, that are thoughtful, that look at voting one way or another depending upon in some cases emotion, whether they like the guy or not.

Such statements are more befitting libertarians and other completely money-centric sociopaths such as those in the Tea Parties movement. In fact, nearly a year ago several leading supposed-conservatives engaged in a similar smear against half the U.S., called the "I Am The 53" movement. Make sure and see the points at that link; those that aren't specific to the specific "53" effort apply to Romney, and double.

As with the "53" effort, Romney is turning his back on millions of the working poor, millions of elderly people who paid into the system, large numbers of veterans, and large numbers of younger people who might one day have otherwise voted for the GOP. Romney is turning his back on millions of people who might otherwise have voted on him.

See also the points I made three days before this video was released. It's because of thinking like that on the video that Romney is barely hanging on against someone whose policies aren't very popular.

Obviously, there are large swaths of the U.S. that Obama does not wish to represent. Mitt Romney is just as bad, and neither are qualified to lead.

9/20/12 UPDATE: While some hacks have tried to throw up dust and pretend that Romney was taken out of context, the Romney campaign has confirmed that Romney's 47% comments were accurately presented on the video. Yesterday, Dylan Byers of Politico posted this ( peekURL.com/zKdy79V ):

A Romney campaign spokesperson reaches out to say that they only take issue with the clip addressing the Mideast peace negotiations, not with the entire video of Romney's remarks at the fundraiser.
