Barry Bonds gets home run 756, surpasses Hank Aaron

And, the best part about it is that there will be no asterisk or anything: he did it completely legitimately. And, he's a nice guy to boot.

He should never, ever be allowed in Cooperstown, even posthumously. He has taken the American game and cheated it out of legitimacy as a sport. And to think what they did to Pete Rose compared to this pompous jackass.

Bonds deserves to be in the HOF just as Pete Rose does. Barry Bonds would have reached this pinnacle regardless odf his aleged use of performance enhancers. Rose is THE GREATEST HITTER IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME! Bonds is the GREATEST HOME_RUN hitter in the history of the game. Period. Unfair advantage? Bullsh*t! Every player in the game had the option of using 'roids. Even playing field. Bonds was willing to risk his health to be the best...others were not. Kinda like...A Nascar driver taking risks every week...to win. It takes more than bulk to hit a ball into the center-field bleachers consistently. It takes great skill. Bonds has had that skill since day one . I remember agreeing with sportscasters in '89 and '90 that Barry Bonds would be one of the greatest players in the game. They were correct. I was correct. Barry Bonds is a great player...regardless of his alleged steroid use.

By all accounts Arnold took massive amounts of steroids when he was a bodybuilder. (and my guess is for at least part of his movie career)He still seems to be going strong with his 60th birthday rapidly approaching. It seems very unlikely that he would have had available to him the expert medical advice that I assume Bonds had, if only because at that time steroid use among athletes was still in its infancy. So did Arnold win the performance enhancing drug safety genetic lottery or are the health hazards of steroid use somewhat overblown?

FREE PETE ROSE! Seriously, I'm a Giants fan and I'm just glad it's over. Now maybe we can get down to the business of actually winning ballgames. And Barry's record is good for the Giants image maybe, but I'd take a World Series victory of ever having him in the first place! TRIVIA: The SF Giants currently hold the current MLB record for being the franchise residing in one city the longest without a championship... 49 years... and counting...

Good, I hope that bastion of anti-Americanism ("Frisco") doesn't see a championship for another 49 years. And if Bonds would have beat Hank Aaron anyway, why did he have to cheat? Hank Aaron did it without steroids, making Bonds not worthy enough to shine Aaron's shoes, much less eclipse his record.
