Thomas Friedman/NYT's anti-American, anti-Indian ad for H-1Bs

Thomas Friedman of the New York Times - last seen here offering an idiotic smear of Sarah Palin - now offers "The Open-Door Bailout " (link). It's basically an ad for the H1B program. Rather than having a life-changing conversation with an Egyptian cab driver, this time the "slightly tongue-in-cheek" words of wisdom are offered by an Indian newspaper editor, who offers this alternative stimulus plan:

"All you need to do is grant visas to two million Indians, Chinese and Koreans... We will buy up all the subprime homes. We will work 18 hours a day to pay for them. We will immediately improve your savings rate - no Indian bank today has more than 2 percent nonperforming loans because not paying your mortgage is considered shameful here. And we will start new companies to create our own jobs and jobs for more Americans."

Call me an idealist, but maybe the idea of having people working 18 hours a day isn't something we should consider a good thing. And, unless Friedman thinks Indians, Chinese, and Koreans are genetically superior to Americans, then perhaps he should be promoting Americans creating new companies and paying their mortgages. He could get on that right now.

He goes on to promote the H-1B company Infosys, quoting a member of their executive council:

"If you [restrict H-1Bs], it will be one of the best things for India and one of the worst for Americans, [because] Indians will be forced to innovate at home..."

Basically, both he and Friedman are promoting brain-draining countries, a policy that would prevent third world countries from developing a middle class, causing more problems for us long-term. Taken to its extreme, that policy is economic warfare and a bit "imperialistic". And, restricting H1Bs really won't be one of the worst things for America; we have hundreds of millions of people and that's more than enough to develop innovative companies under the right circumstances, especially considering the large numbers of unemployed technology workers. Friedman should take a few cab rides in American cities for a change.

Freidman loves to point out that China is the new "world leader". Heck yeah....thanks to creeps like him!!! The guy is clueless. His new book is called "HOT,flat and Crowded"...Hey dummy...It's frigging FREEZING OUT ya MORON!!!!And it's crowded because jerks like you keep encouraging more immigration and H1b Visas!! Stupidity on Parade!!

I read Friedman's article then closed my eyes and tried to imagine just how in the hell does this dipstick have a job writing for anybody not to the mention the NYT. Now I may have to subject myself to numerous ECT session in order to purge the vision of mustache boy giving Pinch a rusty trombone.

He is right in saying all these beacuse 1.India is country which invented all high-technology like Super computer, Missiles, Space Program, Nuclear weapon and everything that Super Power Denied to India. And same is true for innovation and Business also. Thing is that Indian are bit lazy and it work only when there is no other way to escape. So, Thomas is absolutely right with his point..

He raises a legit issue about what type of person is best, from an economic standpoint, to allow to come to the U.S. What he doesn't raise is why guest worker type programs are a bad way to do that, both for the 'guest' and American workers. 'pour into it the most diverse, smart and energetic immigrants from every corner of the world and then stir and repeat, stir and repeat, stir and repeat, stir and repeat.” For someone who has an awareness of global overpopulation, it sounds like he wants to move a LOT of those people into a single country. Repeat forever? We're already projected to add another 100 million population rather quickly and Friedman wants a much higher immigration rate than we already have? That's old 'growth at any cost' thinking which becomes even more insane the higher your population gets and scarcer your resources become. That's spelled S-T-U-P-I-D! 'first-round intellectual draft choices from around the world is the most important competitive advantage a knowledge economy can have, why would we add barriers against such brainpower — anywhere?' Oh, I don't know, maybe because I have a feeling your first round draft choice group is much broader than that analogy implies, and amounts to an enormous amount of people. And limiting to something less than unlimited is called R-E-A-L-I=T=Y. Did you notice Friedman didn't say that in order to accommodate all these 'smart Indians' we'll have to cut back on whoever he considers relatively less smart that we bring in now, officially and unofficially?

Stimulus Bill betrays American workers...see Numbersusa.com

Even if that were remotely desirable -- it isn't -- they'd have to have jobs to pay for those houses, and jobs are in short supply right now. It's all over the papers; the NYT has probably covered that.

khetesh, America has always welcomed those truly gifted individuals who are recognized as exceptional leaders in their fields regards of their race, sex, religion or nationality. Any Indian national capable of developing a supercomputer, an atomic device, a cure for disease.... is welcome to the USA using a O-Visa. There has never been a limit on the O-Visa. Furthermore there is no waiting list for a green card for the exceptional. The H1-B is simply about is displacing American workers with cheaper and often less qualified foreign labor.

Mexican drug cartels make Phoenix #2 in world for kidnappings According to ABC News, the use of kidnapping by Mexican drug cartels for ransom and revenge has spread beyond the Rio Grande and into Arizona — and the federal government has done nothing to stop it. Phoenix has become the second-worst city in the world for kidnappings, right behind Mexico City, with brutal dismemberments for those abductees who do not get ransomed quickly enough: In what officials caution is now a dangerous and even deadly crime wave, Phoenix, Arizona has become the kidnapping capital of America, with more incidents than any other city in the world outside of Mexico City and over 370 cases last year alone. But local authorities say Washington, DC is too obsessed with al Qaeda terrorists to care about what is happening in their own backyard right now. “We’re in the eye of the storm,” Phoenix Police Chief Andy Anderson told ABC News of the violent crimes and ruthless tactics spurred by Mexico’s drug cartels that have expanded business across the border. “If it doesn’t stop here, if we’re not able to fix it here and get it turned around, it will go across the nation,” he said.
