Questions for Chris Van Hollen (D-MD)

Per Chris Van Hollen (Democrat of Maryland, peekURL.com/zZD5Rhp ) “I think what we need to do is pass comprehensive immigration reform, and I just came from a hearing with the non-partisan director of the Congressional Budget Office, who testified that if you passed the Senate bipartisan bill, you will reduce the deficit and increase long-term economic growth in the United States."

For the downsides of comprehensive immigration reform, see 24ahead.com/cir

And, what Van Hollen didn't discuss is the other things mentioned in the 2013 CBO report. That report said CIR would reduce the deficit, but it also said that the Senate "Gang of Eight" bill would only cut illegal immigration by half ( peekURL.com/z24nvpE ).

That report also said that CIR would mean lower wages for millions of Americans for a decade: http://24ahead.com/n/11910

Why did Van Hollen just highlight the benefits in the CBO report, but didn't discuss the downsides to millions of Americans? Isn't it his job to look at both the benefits and the downsides of various policies?
