As a grown-up, I can understand their (usually inelegantly-stated etc) point. What are the downsides of that "fluidity"? RT @Pontificatist [to YAppelbaum] I love your story but it occurs to me that a MAGA American will hate the fluidity of Americanness you describe. <sigh>
