Trump tells Mex president he's optimistic about amnesty deal; WH doesn't reveal it - 09/16/17

On September 14, Donald Trump spoke on the phone with the president of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto. According to a press release from the Mexican government, Trump expressed "optimism" that Congress would reach a deal on amnesty for DACA recipients. That part of the conversation was conveniently left out of the White House readout on the call. Here's the totality of that readout [1]:

Immigration gets short shrift at Trump's initial WhiteHouse.gov - 01/20/17

Immigration is the most vital domestic issue because it impacts everything else in the U.S. It's also the issue that helped elect Donald Trump. Yet the initial version of WhiteHouse dot gov doesn't highlight it. The Trump version of the site is very barebones and that might change, but if it were truly a key issue for Trump he'd put it front and center.

Blatant Obama propaganda promotes a six year old's refugees stance - 09/23/16

Barack Obama has promoted or been promoted by blatant propaganda in the past, oftentimes involving children: kids singing for him, him sending letters to kids, lesson plans, etc. etc.

Unpresidential: Whitehouse.gov promotes, misleads about anti-American DREAM Act (Stephanie Valencia) - 12/03/10

The White House blog has a completely unpresidential post called "10 Reasons We Need The DREAM Act" [1] in which staffer Stephanie Valencia [2] promotes - and misleads about - the anti-American DREAM Act. That bill would let the illegal aliens covered by it take college educations away from U.S. citizens and, depending on the version, would allow states to give some illegal aliens a better college tuition rate than some U.S.

White House is "Open for Questions": wants questions for March 26 online town hall - 03/24/09

On Thursday, March 26 2009, Barack Obama will be holding an online townhall meeting during which he'll answer the most popular user-submitted questions which they're now soliciting at whitehouse.gov/openforquestions

Obama's doublespeak on a "Full and Free Exchange of Ideas" in the media (not the Fairness Doctrine) - 01/27/09

The all-new whitehouse dot gov's section on technology reads like something out of 1984 (whitehouse.gov/agenda/technology): Ensure the Full and Free Exchange of Ideas through an Open Internet and Diverse Media Outlets ...Encourage Diversity in Media Ownership: Encourage diversity in the ownership of broadcast media, promote the development of new media outlets for expression of diverse viewpoints, and clarify the public interest obligations of broadcasters who occupy the nation's spectrum. He wants a free and fair exchange... by driving his opponents off the airwaves. What that boils down to...

BBC, Jason Kottke rave about Whitehouse *robots.txt* file, reach new low in fawning - 01/23/09

Jason Kottke raved about the new Whitehouse dot gov robots.txt file a few days ago, completely going around the bend and establishing a new low for fawning (kottke.org/09/01/the-countrys-new-robotstxt-file). Despite how stupid that was, I didn't note it here due to the fact that Kottke isn't important. Now I see that the BBC has joined in.

Obama Office of Public Liaison: let's ask them tough questions - 01/20/09

Whitehouse dot gov has a new Office of Public Liaison & Intergovernmental Affairs (OPL-IGA) which is Barack Obama's gatekeepers to hoi polloi. They're going to be soliciting input from the citizens, and I urge everyone to give them more input than they can manage by asking them tough questions. It's not clear from their page (whitehouse.gov/administration/eop/opl) how exactly they'll be soliciting that input, whether online or at public events. The first would be problematic due to the way they've handled things such as the "Citizen's Briefing Book", which was a scam designed simply to...

Whitehouse.gov omits Blagojevich link from Michael Strautmanis biography - 01/20/09

The all new whitehouse dot gov has a new Office of Public Liaison & Intergovernmental Affairs, the new president's gatekeepers to hoi polloi. That office's "Chief of Staff to the Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Relations and Public Liaison" is Michael Strautmanis, a long-time Obama associate who also used to work for Rod Blagojevich. Oddly enough, that association is not listed in his biography (link and full text below). Even the New York Times tells us this (go here and browse people): A longtime friend of the Obamas who once worked as Michele Obama's paralegal. Obama's...

Whitehouse.gov gets facelift, blog, deletes old content - 01/20/09

Some of Barack Obama's beyond-delusional fans will no doubt be raving about the magical transformation of whitehouse dot gov into a wonderland of hope and change. While the site has a few new features and a new look, not much has changed. From whitehouse.gov/blog/change_has_come_to_whitehouse-gov: This site will feature timely and in-depth content meant to keep everyone up-to-date and educated... The President's executive orders and proclamations will be published for everyone to review, and that’s just the beginning of our efforts to provide a window for all Americans into the business of...

January 20 is now the "National Day of Renewal and Reconciliation" - 01/20/09

As one of his first acts, president Barack Obama has issued a proclamation on Whitehouse dot gov proclaiming that January 20 is our new "National Day of Renewal and Reconciliation". Unfortunately, what exactly that means isn't explained, although the presumed subtext doesn't sound too good at all.
