Sen. Bob Menendez might have peddled influence (Melgen, Raul Yzaguirre, Dominican Republic) - 02/03/13
If we're lucky, the "Gang of Eight" trying to greatly harm the U.S. with comprehensive immigration reform might soon be reduced to just seven members.

Obama at NCLR: "yes, but..." on immigration enforcement; promotes jobs for possible illegal alien construction workers; DREAM Act; comprehensive reform... - 07/25/11
Barack Obama appeared at the National Council of La Raza convention earlier today; see the last link for our extensive coverage of that group. His unremarkable remarks are at [1]: he didn't really say anything that he hasn't said before. As he's done before, he misled, such as by using the system is broken canard.
Fmr. NCLR president Raul Yzaguirre nominated ambassador to the Dominican Republic - 12/01/09
Raul Yzaguirre - former president of the National Council of La Raza - has been nominated to be the ambassador to the Dominican Republic.
Jeb Bush, Mack McLarty, CFR to push immigration "reform" (amnesty) - 07/06/09
According to this, Jeb Bush and Mack McLarty (former chief of staff of Bill Clinton) will this week be presenting a report in support of
Sonia Sotomayor was member of National Council of La Raza from 1998 to 2004 (+Raul Yzaguirre) - 06/05/09
As first discussed here over a week ago, Sonia Sotomayor was member of the far-left, illegal activity-supporting, extemist-funding, racist-awarding National Council of La Raza. Now we know that she was a member from 1998 to 2004 (link).
Some Hispanic leaders not 100% happy with Sotomayor being Puerto Rican, not Mexican-American - 05/27/09
Oh what a tangled web they weave when first they start to play ethnic politics and assume that all Hispanics think alike despite country of origin. Daniel Gonzalez and Erin Kelly of the Arizona Republic offer "Hispanics laud choice, but many hoped for a Mexican-American" (link). Considering that in Arizona there are, per the article, "1.6 million Latinos of Mexican ancestry, compared with 28,524 of Puerto Rican ancestry", one wonders what (if anything) Ben Smith was thinking when he earlier wrote that "Fierce opposition from the right could push Florida and the West out of reach."

NCLR, LULAC, MALDEF, SEIU, LNHI: universal healthcare for illegal aliens (Latino Agenda for Healthcare Reform) - 12/23/08
On December 12, the group Latinos for National Health Insurance (LNHI, president Jaime Torres) convened a meeting in Washington DC where they and a host of other groups created a coalition called the Latino Agenda for Healthcare Reform. They called for an end to a supposed disparity in healthcare coverage between Hispanics and other groups.
And, they also demanded "access to high quality, culturally and linguistically competent care to every man, woman and child who lives in the United States and its territories". In other words, they want universal healthcare to include illegal aliens....
"Latinos push for Cabinet posts": NCLR, MALDEF, NALEO trying to embed supporters in Obama administration - 11/07/08
"Latinos" want to be named to positions in the Barack Obama administration. Actually, it appears they want a quota system. And, it's not really "Latinos" as a group, but the familiar far-left pressure groups such as the NCLR, MALDEF, and NALEO. The second has an indirect link to the Mexican government, and the last has a direct link.
The ethnic boosting "reporter" Gebe Martinez of the Politico offers "Latinos push for Cabinet posts" (link). Here's the quota bit:
Weeks before Barack Obama won the presidency, he met privately in Washington with his former Democratic rival, Sen. Hillary...
Arizona Chamber of Commerce, MATT.org, Raul Yzaguirre start immigration "reform" ad campaign; Mexican government link? - 09/24/08
Earlier today, the Arizona Chamber of Commerce (chief executive: Glenn Hamer), hosted a press conference where they announced an ad campaign in support of immigration "reform", presumably including some form of "guest" worker scheme (link).
Obama favored over McCain at NCLR meet, PWW reports (Fairness Doctrine) - 07/15/08
Comrade Rosalio Munoz from People's Weekly World reports from the National Council of La Raza convention where John McCain and Barack Obama spoke:
"Incredibly, McCain did not even address the issues of the war in Iraq or his policy on health care. On immigration it was more of the same: secure the borders and no stop to the raids," said Angela Sambrano, an NCLR board member and director of the National Alliance of Latin-American and Caribbean Communities.
...Irene Godinez, 26, of Raleigh, N.C., who leads statewide public policy advocacy for the organization El Pueblo, said she thought "...
First Data Immigration Reform panel - 10/03/07
First Data Corporation - the current or former parent company of Western Union - conducted several immigration "reform" panels around the country in 2004. The [[July 22, 2004]] version was held in Denver and is described here.
That page describes how a fight broke out, which appears to have been initiated by an illegal immigration supporter.

Want identity theft with that? (Reno McDonald's immigration raid) - 10/03/07
From this:
A puzzling W-2 form prompted last week's raids on eleven McDonald's stores in Reno and Fernley.
A Fernley [Nevada] woman, whose name was not immediately available, became suspicious when she received a W-2 form early this year that reported more income than she had earned.
The woman soon discovered someone at the Fernley McDonald's where she used to work had been using her identity.
A manager at the same location was also using someone else's ID.
Hillary Clinton picks National Council of La Raza's Raul Yzaguirre to co-chair - 04/12/07
Hillary Clinton has selected Raul Yzaguirre - former president of the National Council of La Raza ("The Race") - as the co-chair of her presidential campaign. He'll head up her "outreach" to Hispanics. In actual fact, he'll help her even more strongly support illegal immigration, as Yzaguirre's history shows.
NCLR is a considered-mainstream group that has links to and funds extremists. Last year, Karl Rove spoke at their convention.
Yzaguirre says:
"Hillary Clinton has spent more than three decades advocating on behalf of those who are invisible in America... Not only is she the most...
Clinton, Rove to speak before National Council of La Raza (The Race) - 07/01/06
The National Council of La Raza ("National Council of The Race"), a far-left, Ford Foundation-sponsored racial power group, will be holding its annual meeting at the Los Angeles Convention Center on July 8-11.
