Charles Jaco CNN Saudi Arabia Gulf War footage: real or fake? (Answer: real)
For a couple of years clips have been circulating on Youtube that tried to show that a CNN segment about the Iraq War - featuring Charles Jaco - was fake. CNN says the segment was live and originated in Saudi Arabia; their opponents try to pretend that the segment was actually shot in a studio in the U.S.
You can see one video making that accusation here.
Now, compare it to this video of another segment of the same reporter. The pan at the 2 minute mark clearly shows that he was outside and next to a shoreline of some sort. While it could be any shoreline, there's an excellent chance that it was indeed shot in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia as CNN claims. Clearly, Jaco wasn't in a studio, and he wasn't in Atlanta. Those and other clips show him and others from CNN clowning around and Jaco appears to be quite a piece of work, but that's not an excuse to make things up.
