I'm a "reporter" (of a sort) and I don't care
The makers of the newest "documentary" Outfoxed tell us:
We are happy to provide here the full text of the 33 memos if Fox will give us permission. They have been made available by request to reporters.
Thankfully, we have people like an 18-year-old college student to do the heavy work for us:
Only on CableNewser: An initial analysis of the 33 internal FOX memos released on the "Outfoxed" web site suggests they are not as "damning" as some people have suggested. Here are the "highlights," grouped into three categories:
Some of the statements in the memos are questionable:
> 6/3/03: "The national forest as pot field story is pure Fox."
> 4/4/04: Fallujah: "We will cover this hour by hour today, explaining repeatedly why it is happening. It won't be long before some people start to decry the use of 'excessive force.' We won't be among that group."
> 04/28/04: "Let's refer to the US marines we see in the foreground as "sharpshooters" not snipers, which carries a negative connotation."
There are only three items in his "questionable" category, the remaining eight excerpts put Fox in a better light.
Note that if you go to the link above, he's got links to each of the memos. Except, those links no longer work. Whether they don't work because of complaints from Fox or because they found them inconsistent with the message of their "documentary" is unknown.
