Trump lets down Mike Bloomberg, Bill de Blasio opponents
As discussed in detail on the Michael Bloomberg and Bill de Blasio pages, both the current and former mayor of New York City are strong supporters of massive and illegal immigration. Both push bad policies using deception, and both are extremely vulnerable to smart arguments.
Those who oppose Bloomberg's and de Blasio's policies need a champion to make those smart arguments on the national stage. Not only will that force Bloomberg and de Blasio to modify their policies, it will send a strong message to others who support the same policies.
As should be abundantly clear by now, Donald Trump isn't that champion. See the link if that's not clear about other ways Trump has failed.
In Bloomberg's case, Trump let down his opponents by only engaging in kid's stuff, like this tweet [1]:
If Michael Bloomberg ran again for Mayor of New York, he wouldn't get 10% of the vote - they would run him out of town! #NeverHillary
Or this [2]:
"Little" Michael Bloomberg, who never had the guts to run for president, knows nothing about me. His last term as Mayor was a disaster!
But, wait, it gets even worse (link):
Donald Trump, after hearing speeches at the Democratic convention this week, said Thursday he wanted to "hit a number of those speakers so hard, their heads would spin."
"They'd never recover," he said.
Trump often uses the term "hit" to mean verbally attack, rather than physical contact.
The Republican nominee zoomed in on one speaker especially, though he didn't mention his name.
"I was going to hit one guy in particular, a very little guy," Trump said to laughs at a campaign rally in Davenport, Iowa. "I was going to hit this guy so hard his head would spin, he wouldn't know what the hell happened."
Trump said this individual "came out of nowhere" and had done work with Trump in the past. "He made deals with me. 'Will you help me with this? Would you make this deal and solve the problem?' I solved the problem," Trump said.
Trump wouldn't identify who he was referring to, but the "very little guy" is obviously Bloomberg and de Blasio is probably also one of the "speakers" Trump referred to.
Why can't Trump solve the problem of Mike Bloomberg's PNAE deceiving about immigration, and many people believing it? Trump supporters aren't going to understand the necessity of doing things like that. Yet, showing those like Bloomberg and de Blasio wrong is necessary to reduce massive and illegal immigration: we won't be able to do that without intellectually engaging and showing wrong the other side. Without that, all the walls and new laws would fail miserably.
Clearly, all Trump is capable of is schoolyard-style insults. He's not representing the interests of those of us who truly oppose massive and illegal immigration.
