The low level of Timothy Noah's reporting (TNR, GOP Convention)

For an example of the low-level of Timothy Noah's reporting, first see the post about Jack Hitt of Harper's for the backstory.

Of that, Noah (formerly of Slate, now of The New Republic) writes ( "Pas Devant Les Enfants, Tampa: Puerto Rico Out Of U.S.?", peekURL.com/zSg8UAU ):

Buzzfeed's Zeke Miller suggests it wasn't Latino-baiting, but rather a protest against some procedural disrespect toward primary candidate Rep. Ron Paul, R.-TX, who hasn't (and probably won't) endorse Mitt Romney. (Indeed, he's not even sure he'll vote for the guy.) That would make it a different sort of pas devant les enfants moment. You be the judge: [the second video from the Hitt post follows]

The post time on Noah's piece is 1pm Eastern (10am Pacific), around the same time as I was writing the Hitt post. And, a peek at Memeorandum of noon Eastern (link) shows that Noah had easy access to the same information as I did. The NBC Latino post linked in my Hitt post was in Memeorandum and had been posted at 10am Eastern. The first video in my Hitt post was posted to Youtube sometime around 6:30PM Eastern yesterday.

So, Noah had access to the same information I did, but instead of including it he just followed Hitt's lead, following it with the question mark quoted above that most TNR readers will probably ignore.
