Yesterday, the U.S. soccer team faced off against the Mexican soccer team in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The Los Angeles Times headline says it all: "In Gold Cup final, it's red, white and boo again/Mexico rallies for a 4-2 win over U.S. behind overwhelming support at Rose Bowl. In what other country would the visitors have home-field advantage?" [1].

Since it's obviously not clear to enough of our leaders that we face a growing "Chicano Quebec" inside the U.S. (or they're too corrupt to care), let's turn to Univision anchor Jorge Ramos. On Twitter [2], he said about the match:

La mayoria ayer en California apoyo a equipo de Mexico sobre USA, algo muy dificil de aceptar para muchos. USA se latiniza

My translation of that is:

The majority in California support the Mexican team over the USA team, something very difficult for many to accept. The U.S. is latinizing.

Obviously, in the grander scheme of things soccer isn't that important. However, the anti-American (and anti-"gringo") mindset of many who live here should be of very great concern. Whose side would that population come down on when trade disputes or border disputes are involved? Someone who replied to Ramos even referenced reconquista [3].

As for what you can do about this, see how to reduce illegal immigration. And, when an American politician is going to be interviewed by Ramos (see his name's link above), suggest they talk to him about that "latinization". In English.

It was imperfectly odd. It was strangely unsettling. It was uniquely American.

On a balmy early Saturday summer evening, the U.S soccer team played for a prestigious championship in a U.S. stadium … and was smothered in boos.

Its fans were vastly outnumbered. Its goalkeeper was bathed in a chanted obscenity. Even its national anthem was filled with the blowing of air horns and bouncing of beach balls.

Most of these hostile visitors didn't live in another country. Most, in fact, were not visitors at all, many of them being U.S. residents whose lives are here but whose sporting souls remain elsewhere....
