My mountain bike on Mt. Baldy
Posted Sun, Jun 18, 2006 at 7:50 pm
Yesterday I and my bike visited Mt. Baldy (10,064') outside Los Angeles. I basically pushed it up to the summit and then more or less biked down. Here are the details on my Mt. Baldy mountain biking expedition.

Excellent photos...it spurs my memory of the 89 hike. Thank you for sharing it.

Great hike...did this one in mid 89. Want to see it again. Went up from Baldy Village. Couple of other ways...hike to summit from Guffy Camp from the north...this goes over Dawson Peak before coming to Baldy. A dangerous route is from Baldy to Iron mountain or vice versa (car shuttle). Nearby one that's nice...Icehouse Canyon.

Good fun. Born and raised in Cucamonga. Been there many times. I am curious. Is the crashed plane still visable from the trail?

If you had to push the bike so much, why not leave it at home? The tires probably damage (rut) the terrain anyway.
Try the Whitney day hike.

Switch to backpacking;it's safer and more environmentally sound.
