Barack Obama: Narcissistic Personality Disorder? (McCain denies his accomplishments)
Barack Obama's speech announcing that he's the Democratic Party's nominee is here. Admidst all the puffery and empty promises - probably written by someone else - this stands out:
I honor [John McCain's] service, and I respect his many accomplishments, even if he chooses to deny mine.
Ohhhkay. While being the first black presidential candidate is certainly an accomplishment, I'm having trouble locating any other standout accomplishments under his name. And, yes I've seen the list of bills he was involved in. I've also noticed problems with at least a couple of those bills and I'm sure there are issues with some or most of the others.
Now, certainly, making speeches from Arizona on one coast to Maine on the other (where ever that is) and all the other 55 states is grueling. But, Obama's current roles were basically handed to him by party elders, failures of his opponents, and the corrupt mainstream media.
The upside to such personality types from our perspective is that they're prone to cracking when faced with tough questioning, something that Obama has not yet experienced.
If anyone would like to do a public service, get out there and ask Obama some tough questions, then upload his response to Youtube and other video sharing sites. For instance, call him on this recent lie.
UPDATE: Constant joke Andrew Sullivan's take is a tad different:
andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/06/this-moment-1.html
To the best of my knowledge it's not a self-parody:
...It was also rhetorically more powerful than McCain - not by a small amount but by a mile. Put McCain's speech against Obama's - and this was a wipe-out. Not a victory. A wipe-out. Rhetorically, they are simply not in the same league. And if the contrast tonight between McCain and Obama holds for the rest of the campaign, McCain is facing a defeat of historic proportions.

_"a journey that will bring a new and better day to America."_ Well, that's subjective. Obama comes across as one who could divide this country over more than one issue. He probably won't win though, and his major "accomplishment" will be to hand a record number of would-be Democratic votes to John McCain. Is it my up-too-late imagination, or does his speech seem pro-Hillary enough to lead into announcing her as his running mate?

Yeah, exactly what would those accomplishments be? This campaign should be good for a few laughs, and one reason will definitely be an expected cliche tsunami. And people who are interested in even more laughs should look up the employment history of Obama's wife to get a load of her "accomplishments". I am not so sure that McCain will win in November. He is rather old, and not exactly Ronald Reagan. Due to his e.g. position on immigration he will have trouble holding onto the Republican base, many of whom will not vote out of disgust. Despite being pro-life, I don't think Christians are too excited about him. Regarding the 'War on Terror' and all that, I think people are fed up enough with the Iraq fiasco that this will not carry as much weight as some people now expect. Also current economic problems are seen as stemming from greed and irresponsibility on Wall St, which is primarily associated with the Republicans.

'even if he chooses to deny mine.' I noticed that too. I was surprised he'd bring that up because people might finally start to ask 'What exactly has this guy done again?' Again is the wrong word. They'd be asking for the fist time.

eh, Everything you said about McCain is true. But if Obama gets the nod, McCain will be running against a completely inexperienced novice who spews Marxist rhetoric nonsense at every turn and views the world from such a perspective. Forget about the Republicans and Independents, lots of Democrats and true Liberals can not stand this phony.

eh that is what the one world pigs want to have a Marxist in the white house and to have a black guy with hate for whites will work out to mass race and civil war, in fact if Obama become the next pig ruler both the dempigs and repupigs can become one party and the one world pigs win we can fight the good fight for freedom but with 150 million third world troops on the side of the pigs we can't win only be killed fighting against evil. but if McCain wins he will also have mass Amnesty and a race war down the line some 20 years we can't win that one, so no matter what people do today the USA May as well be called the FORMER USA. One way we can win is to start maving the willing population to some area that whites can keep free and build a new system and economic system that will keep freedom haters outside our new system of laws and freedom/liberty/self-determination and duty to the ideals of the bill of rights with no PC or BS. But sad to say whites and freedom lovers will never do that until the cities become mass Graveyards and by that time our ideals will be lost in death and hate, in other words just buy guns for life.

Fred, what you say is, sadly, true. Why are citizens of some other countries more willing to stand up for their countries and for themselves than US citizens? I would have thought we'd be at least as fiery over losing our foundation.

_Why are citizens of some other countries more willing to stand up for their countries and for themselves than US citizens?_ For example? [1] Many European countries have massive problems with unassimilable immigrant populations, as well as bizarre laws against speaking out against that in plain language. As a result, and as if political correctness itself were not enough intimidation (which it is usually), most people keep their mouths shut, even though they can see everything worsening year after year. At least in the US you still have (more or less) free speech, and as a result there is definitely more vigorous, high-profile, and politically acceptable opposition here. Such as it is. Related absurdity. [2]

eh, thanks for the links. Hopefully, probably, Brigitte Bardot will keep speaking up. :) _"At least in the US you still have (more or less) free speech"_ - The puzzler is why so many of us use that free speech to intimidate others to be politically correct sheeple. I've noticed that even in places where free speech is punishable by prison, torture or death citizens are willing to stand up. With our free speech (for now), most of us are so willing to quietly watch our country fall apart, what would we do without our current cushy situation? Maybe the question should be "what *will* we do?"

When he talks about his "accomplishments" I think he means simply his attending Harvard, then being a state senator and then a U.S. senator. His tender ego inflates the significance of those things.

Ithe near future this kind of anti-immigrant and anti-liberal talk will be unlawful "hate speech". It's just a matter of time and a great way to keep the masses down and out.

Obama isn't the first Black candidate, Alan Keys beat him by years. As far as accomplishments he is known for I can name one, abortion rights. Even so, he's far "less worse" than McCain, and for all those who say "What about the Supreme Court nominations?" forget it, the Supreme Court can't even decide if rent control is constitutional. If you're looking for a lifeline from the Supreme Court you're gonna drown, don't count on the Supreme Court for anything except supporting the Congress.
