Is Erick Erickson of RedState promoting revolution, violence against politicians?

I'll let you decide. Washington state recently passed a law forbidding diswashing liquid sold in that state from containing phosphates. That was the straw that caused Erick Erickson of RedState to snap (redstate.com/erick/2009/03/31/at-what-point-do-people-revolt):

At what point do the people tell the politicians to go to hell? At what point do they get off the couch, march down to their state legislator’s house, pull him outside, and beat him to a bloody pulp for being an idiot? ...Were I in Washington State, I’d be cleaning my gun right about now waiting to protect my property from the coming riots or the government apparatchiks coming to enforce nonsensical legislation.

What he outlines is indeed where the tea parties and other completely ineffective populist movements are leading, and it looks to me like Erickson is promoting mob action.

What Erickson isn't promoting is a much more effective plan that would help reform politics and that would be completely legal and non-violent: asking politicians tough questions on video. Coming up with ideas like that and promoting them are beyond Erickson's capabilities; instead he offers things like the above.

Nothing wrong with advocating violence against corrupt politicians eroding our way of life and enslaving us into to global totalitarianism. I have had it too.

I'm also on board...and lonewacko....politicians have been exposed for their stupidity and treachery over and over again....nothing matters to their dopey, rudderless followers. The blatant disrespect for our sovreigntry and our laws and our tax money is well beyond needing video coverage...I see it every night and day on the web and on tv.......the frustration is reaching a fever pitch. When even the mainstream pundits are echoing supposed conspiracies you know the genie is out of the bottle. If the American people are not awake yet, then they must be in permanent comas.

Petty bourgeois and Mary, well said. When the nation was founded, it came after years and years of petitions, pleas, marches...and lawyers. Lots of lawyers. All legal avenues had NOT yet been exhausted, but the patience of the People was. And yet some still argued that we should continue the petitions, apparently forever and to no avail...anything to avoid doing that which was necessary. Continuing to pursue redress of grievances through 'proper channels' is a course of action to which the government need never respond. The petitioner loses and they win. Every. Time. It costs them nothing beyond tossing out an occasional bone or a sacrifical lamb once in a while. Just keep the public busy doing the 'right' thing, and they will continue to do as they please. Petitions and pleas carry no power. They impede nothing. Elections? ACORN. Judicial activism. Elections rife with fraud and corrupt election officials. How many dead and fictional voters cast ballots last November? How many of the 50 SOS counted those dead votes while never challenging Obama's legitimacy to be on the ballot? Every last one of them. Who stood up in congress to represent the petitions by hundreds of thousands of voters, or state a single challenge the certifications? Zero. How many cases did the Supreme court hear on that point? Zero. A free press that can no longer recall why they are free or what their obligations are in defense of freedom. McCain-Feingold. Our chances of ever seeing an honest election again are about as likely to happen as seeing our immigration laws enforced. How long shall we go on believing the abuse will stop if only we keep playing 'nice'? Will it be until after the next election, the next petition? Or will it be the next one, or maybe the one after that. Maybe after our children grow up they will file some more, too... Free men will not yield forever . Tolerance does have limits. The line of no going back can be crossed. At some point faith is lost, reality and the knowledge of what comes next becomes self evident. The final petition must be delivered on the tip of a pitchfork.

the enemy in front of any who can see.

The final petition will come from the end of a barrel of gun. Traitors need to be shot before our government will get the message. Blood will flow. This is the price of freedom, and always has been. Now if we could just get uneducated redneck dolts like fred marginalized out of the debate, all would be better with the world.

I disagree Petty...from the beginning Fred said "buy guns" over and over again. Now what you see is people that are paying attention...finally ...and are buying guns....gun sales are thru the roof. EVEN O'Reilly who is usually clueless finally admitted that the people warning of a globalist agenda may well be right. I took a cab to the airport about three or 4 years ago......The cabbie told me then that Bush was involved in a plan to fold this government into a new world order. I thought he was nuts ! Do you think I still think he was nuts? Now even with a bloody violent war on our border you still have the government GOONS like Napolitano ,Kerry, Obama et al doing absolutely nothing to stop it from spilling over . To top it off, after arresting illegals in a raid, they not only let them go but give them work permits as Americans lose Millions of jobs.!!!!Instead they decide the one who needs to be stopped is Sheriff Arpaio!!!! When some say this country is upside down they have it exactly right. We are surrounded by a den of thieves, traitors and scoundrels . Who knew that if that plane had hit the capitol on 911 it would have been a blessing for the country!
