Jose DelReal vs. reporting
Jose DelReal of Politico misleads about the Gallup poll discussed here: 24ahead.com/n/12015
DelReal's "Poll: A shift on immigration reform" ( peekURL.com/zGbav2k ) subtly misleads in this paragraph: "The Gallup poll shows that 43 percent of those surveyed say securing the border is “extremely important” while 44 percent attach the same importance to dealing with the the status of undocumented immigrants in the country."
In fact, the Gallup poll said nothing about "status": that word doesn't appear anywhere in the poll. Claiming that the poll shows concern with "dealing with the the status of undocumented immigrants" implies that the respondents want to adjust that status, i.e., legalize illegal aliens. That cannot be assumed, as discussed at the link in the opening paragraph of this post.
