Some changes ahead
In the near future, the following changes will be made in this general order:
1. I'm going to change this domain name to something that isn't stupid. I think I'm going to just redirect every current page to counterparts at the new site, so none of the URLs would 404, they'd just be automatically redirected to the corresponding pages at the new site. I may redirect the non-politics pages to hotsop.com or another site, but those URLs wouldn't 404 either. Needless to say, this is a bit risky vis-a-vis traffic from search engines, but the long-term benefits of a better name are worth it. The problem now is to find that name; even interminable names like "opensourcereporting.com" are taken.
2. More punditry, with attempts to write content for display on other sites.
3. I'm going to attempt to hit the campaign trail and ask the candidates the questions that the MSM refuses to ask. Then, I'll be uploading the answers to video sharing sites. It'd be just great if I could get some form of sponsorship for that. One possibility is a tip jar of some kind. Another is sponsorship by some form of media organization. What makes that very difficult is the general non-partisan nature of the questions, the fact that almost everyone in the political establishment does not want tough questions to be asked lest similar questions are asked of their side, and the fact that the questions would probably be about immigration, a topic that many don't want to discuss at all. And, no one in the MSM would be interested since it would reveal them to be the complete hacks they are.

I think you going out and asking them DIRECT questions that matter is a GREAT idea!! I wish I could....(but I don't know if I could keep from slugging them!!!) Go for it! I kinda like the site name Lonewacko....because dealing with todays politicians will make you WACKO.

Lonewacko, Very good idea. There is nothing remotely wacko about this site nor are you remotely alone. You have built a meticulous archive and reference on the players behind our immigration insanity. Another thing I think you could change is the following. NON-"LIBERAL" COVERAGE OF IMMIGRATION, IRAQ, TERRORISM, MULTICULTURALISM, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, PRIVACY, AND OCCASIONALLY CELEBRITIES AND WACKY HUMOR. Instead of NON-"LIBERAL" which I feel it does a disservice towards your mostly honest self conscious attempt to provide a non partisan fair and balanced, judicious analysis on the issues mentioned. I consider myself a liberal and I am very rarely oposed to what is documented here as to the misdeeds and idiocy done by the liberals and the left in regards to immigration. And I am neither alone or a wacko in that regard. I do not know if you would want to somehow separate your factual reporting from your editorializing and opinion. That is up to you, but it is a good journalistic practice. But you need to make clear to your readership that immigration has never been an issue that fits in to a simplistic left vs right, Democrat vs Republican, left vs liberal vs libertarian vs conservative paradigm.

Lonewacko, I second the comments of Mary and llamajockey. Most of all llamajockeys closing sentence. Well said. I have no idea how effective tip jars are, but sounds like a good idea. You have already earned every penny that will be coming your way. Many times over. Best of luck with the name search, too.

I agree that a new site name and URL would be a good idea, not that I dislike the current one (I do not) but that the smartness of the lonewacko is lost on the pro-illegal/open borders mind. Thus, in the PERCEPTIONS of those you write about, your site title is misleading because it reinforces their most negative stereotypes (to oppose illegal immigration and open borders is to be "wacko" as if it's beneath them without any regard for the offensiveness of their own behaviors and positions, to the contrary). Your site is among my all-time favorites, however, and your work here is invaluable. Your coverage of issues is exceptionally well done and I can't think of one thing to criticise about the entire place. If you had a less "misleading" site name and URL, the site would inevitably attract higher traffic (and thus, your news as reported receive greater exposure).

I have a few ideas for a site name/URL for you...don't see an email contact here. Please feel free to contact me in an email, however, and I'll send them off to you. I'd post them here but from my past experience, as soon as you publicize URL ideas, *certain registry orgs* snap them up and then deem them unavailable.

I like the lonewacko name. I don't think it is silly or not serious. To me lonewacko.com is the site where people who refuse to be PC and who still value common sense and American values come. The lonewacko is the lone person in the room who asks the obvious question or points out the obvious faulty argument. The person who the others in the room stare at in disbelief. X3 Mary and llamajockey comments. Perhaps you should start another site for your questioning of the candidates and video. You could later expand it to questions and responses of all our elected officials.

This is great but understand if you ask to many Questions you can go to prison, so don't ask some questions like do you plan to open camps for former U.S. Citizens who say no? or just shot anyone who gets out of line? ask Obama who long has he been planning the move and when did he start working for bin laden/Bush? and how long did you know McCain have you been Red? and why do you hate our freedoms? and hillary why did you say to la raza that all white males sould be removed to a Reeducation camp in 1996? and why did you go to mexico city 3 years ago to talk to fox about the future of the western part of the U.S.? and what did you say in 1972 at a communist party meaning? If you ask any question like that you will go right to jail and never come-out alive. so don't ask any question just stand back and watch the system eat people alive, it's more fun that way.

Here's your first question for any Presidential candidates. Are you aware America has funded fungus research for a opium killing fungus and it works and kills Opium poppies? Are you willing to deploy the fungus to kill Taliban opium fields rather than US marines?

I like the site name, "lonewacko," too. But refer to my earlier comments here. I'd be pleased whatever this site does as to naming. The site's contents are what are key and I find the place exceptionally well worth a frequent read.
