Trump admits he wants amnesty for DREAMers, using deceptive loose borders talking point
Like everyone else, we urge you to wash your hands and engage in social distancing.
Unlike everyone else, we urge you to also help with this smart plan to get more tests, ventilators, and PPE. Everyone can do that plan right now, at home, in just 15 minutes.
If enough people help with the plan we can save lives. Take time out now and help get more desperately-needed supplies.
After two tweets today, even Donald Trump's most delusional fans are going to have to admit that Trump supports giving amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens. He's not playing "12th dimensional chess", he's serious.
Not only did Trump admit that he supports amnesty, he did it using a talking point associated with loose borders groups like Frank Sharry, with the establishment media, and with Democratic Party leaders.
What Trump supports will not only harm American workers and students, it will also harm countries like Mexico. See the last link for just how badly Trump would harm the USA.
Here are the tweets, run together (image below, links at ):
Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really!.... ...They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own - brought in by parents at young age. Plus BIG border security
Trump is obviously mentally and emotionally weak. If he were capable of understanding all the impacts of legalizing DREAMers, he'd oppose any such plans. Instead, he parrots the media. They've spent years pushing talking points along the same lines, such as via PIIPP propaganda pieces. It's only surprising that Trump didn't hype DREAMers as valedictorians, but maybe there wasn't enough space.
The fact is that - as with other amnesty supporters - everything good Trump says about DREAMers reflects badly on him. Why does he want to deprive Mexico of the "good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs" they desperately need? If our "good, educated and accomplished young people" left for other countries, wouldn't that harm us?
It's probably more a matter that Trump can't figure things out than him wanting to do harm to Mexico, and that illustrates another problem: he's suffering from a severe case of GIGO. He has Nancy Pelosi and pro-amnesty hosts on one side, and those who'd deport DREAMers with nothing on the other side. Given his mental failings, it's not much of a surprise that Trump feels like he has to chose the pro-amnesty side. He's not being presented with smart alternatives that would help the USA and Mexico like a repatriations program.
On the plus side, by making it very clear that he supports amnesty - and by colluding with Pelosi and Schumer to do it - it makes it slightly easier to oppose the Pelosi-Trump-Schumer amnesty. Any conservative leader who supports Trump's plan can be accurately portrayed as a supporter of not just amnesty but Pelosi and Schumer.
