Michelle Obama: Kenya is Barack Obama's "home country"
The video at peekURL.com/vzgiubo [1] shows Michelle Obama speaking to an LGBT Delegate dinner on August 26, 2008 and she clearly states the following:
"Barack has led by example. When we took our trip to Africa and visited his home country in Kenya we took a public HIV test for the very point of showing folks in Kenya that there is nothing to be embarrassed about in getting tested."
That's not a slip of the tongue and she doesn't correct herself: she states it as a simple fact. Does this prove that Obama was born in Kenya? No, and it doesn't provide strong evidence of it either. It certainly is curious however: for instance, referring to Ireland as Pat Leahy's "home country" would be curious and might cause people to wonder whether he was born there. Contrariwise, imagine saying that Australia is Mel Gibson's "home country". That might cause some to debate whether that's true since he was born in the U.S. and only moved there at age 12.
In any case, this isn't proof even if some will treat it as such. The much better way to use this issue is outlined in the posts on the Obama citizenship page: to discredit those who've lied about the basic, objective, easily-understood facts of this matter. Dozens of mainstream media sources and the like have shown that they're liars and that they don't understand basic logic, but so far I'm the only person trying to hold them accountable.
[1] That video has an edit shortly after she says the above, but the video at peekURL.com/vknp2xj is uninterrupted. The Kenya bit starts around 13:55 at the last video and then has two more minutes of her speaking, all without any edits.
