From this, we receive word that Laura Reiff of the Essential Worker Immigration Coalition tried to block funding for the recently announced supposed push by the DHS to enforce the Social Security number no-match regulations. Among the ideas under consideration are seeking approval of a resolution under the Congressional Review Act, a rarely used tool that allows Congress to review and overrule regulations, or raising the question of whether the rules violate the Regulatory Flexibility Act, which require agencies to consider the impact of their regulatory actions on small businesses.
