How not to ask about the Obama citizenship issue (Mike Castle assumes Obama is a citizen)

Drudge is linking to this video of a townhall meeting in Delaware featuring Republican congressman Mike Castle. The "lady in red" launches into nothing more than a rant about the Obama citizenship issue and then states that Obama is a citizen of Kenya. Castle responds by saying he's a U.S. citizen.

They're both wrong in similar ways: while there's a very strong possibility that Obama is a U.S. citizen, no definitive proof has so far been offered. If Castle has definitive proof that he's obtained as part of his job, then he should provide the details.

After that exchange, the lady in red encourages the audience to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. In other words, little was gained: they just put on a show.

The smarter thing to do is to avoid rants and instead ask detailed questions relating to the facts discussed at the third link above.

It's simple, no matter what Obama were to offer the same people would be claiming it is faked. And when has this been asked before? It is only because his is black and has a non Anglo Saxon name. Nuts are nuts, they don't change their minds because someone offers proof -- look at the 911 conspiracy guys, they haven't changed their mind despite all the evidence.

As I recall McCain went through a lot of scrutiny as a presidential candidate because he was born in Panama. Apparently color or Anglo Saxon names haven't any bearing on the matter.
