"GOP mulls ending birthright citizenship"

House Republicans are looking closely at ending birthright citizenship and building a barrier along the entire U.S.-Mexico border as they search for solutions to illegal immigration.In fact:
...Most lawmakers had avoided the issue, fearing that change would require a constitutional amendment -- the 14th Amendment reads in part: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States."
But several Republicans said recent studies suggest otherwise.
"There's been recent scholarship that says we can do it by statute, and we ought to try," said Rep. Jeff Flake, Arizona Republican, who usually finds himself on the opposite side of immigration issues from Mr. Tancredo...
At the time the amendment was approved, the author of the clause, Sen. Jacob M. Howard, said the phrase relating to jurisdiction meant, "This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners...." ...In subsequent years, the courts invalidated the assurances of Howard; at this stage, an amendment to the Constitution seems the only means available to change the law...

What will hapen in the future is this, after Bush is out of office some bitch will take over and call for oneness of all people; that is a code word for the total dismantling of this nation the third world people now inside this nut house will be all for it and some people will start to see the light and fight back but at that point you will see many waco's...but in the end the third world people who now live here will get nothing but total enslavement, you know like Mexico.

There are certainly third world people other than Mexicans pouring across the US-Mexican borders, and that is a problem of national security as well as economics. However, it is important to look at Mexico, which seems to be the source of most of the flow.
Mexico is a rich country - the world's 10th largest economy with nearly half of all billionaires in Latin America. Still it raises less tax revenue than nearly any other Latin American country - roughly 12%. The simple facts are that a small number of rich elites in Mexico do not want to change the way that they do business. They like their luxury and are indifferent to their less fortunate citizens and encourage them to immigrate to the US - legally or illegally - and become our problems while they send money back to Mexico. The issue in Mexico isn't for the US to send it aid - it is perfectly capable of taking care of its own people - it just doesn't want to.
It is sort of the moral equivalent of what would have happened if the US reacted to the Civil Rights era that started in the 50's & 60's by telling African-American that they'd be much happier in Canada - or for that matter Mexico - and then helped many of them sneak across the border illegally so that they could send money home to their families that were left in the US, thereby sparing the US any cost of solving the problem here. Neither Canada nor Mexico would have stood still for this then and we in the US shouldn't do so now.
Unfortunately, these days too many rich Americans seem to want to live like rich Mexicans at the expense of working US citizens.

Miguel, truth be told, after all these years, developing countries should NOT be looking to the US or other rich countries for much assistance. Aid after a disaster has certainly helped the victims, but development aid just ain't enough.
The US invests more than $10k per year per student in K-12 education. And trillions are invested every year to obtain an average 2% per capita increase in GDP per year. The amount of aid to duplicate that in Africa, Latin America and Asia just ain't gonna happen.

It will never happen, in fact within ten years the mexican "pedophiles", will call for the removal of all non hispanics from aztlan.
our government is not of the people or by the people and boys and girls the barbarians are at the Gate and we do live in a time illogic.
you will hear alot of talk but never will come out of it. facts 30 to 60 percent of all kids now in school are hispanics and hate this culture and hate you!
