Michael Moore owned Halliburton stock

Ah, "liberal" hypocrisy.

A new book reports on the extensive stock holdings of "liberal" favorite Michael Moore. Here are just some of the companies a trust he controls has owned stock in:

Pfizer, Merck, Genzyme, Elan PLC, Eli Lilly, Becton Dickinson, Boston Scientific, Sunoco, Noble Energy, Schlumberger, Williams Companies, Transocean Sedco Forex, Anadarko, Ford, General Electric, AOL Time Warner, Honeywell, Boeing Loral

He also owned stock in McDonald's. No surprise there.

And, of course, he also owned part of Halliburton, and he even made a 15% profit on that holding.

All these facts and much more are revealed in the Amazon best-seller "Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy" from Hoover Fellow Peter Schweizer.

It has more on Moore, Al Franken, Barbra Streisand, and other limo libs, so buy your copy today for the complete story on our favorite entertainers and politicians.

I was complaining to a fellow alumna about Bush and Halliburton. She said that she had invested in oil and Halliburton immediately after the election. Not only does it cushion the overall pain, she is able to donate the profits to liberal causes. It's not hypocrisy, its cleverness. Sort of like monetary judo moves. Use their own corruption against them.

Cheney's options on Haliburton have gone up 3000% since the beginning of the war with Iraq.

But I am sure that it was just a coincidence that Haliburton was handed out "no bid" contracts for the so-called rebuilding of Iraq.

By the way, Cheney is still drawing deferred compensation from Haliburton.

Another coincidence...

On another topic, Michael Brown is STILL on the public payroll as a consultant for FEMA!

Is Rush still a fighting his doctor shopping drug charge? Is Frist still in denial about his stock sale and his blind trust? Cheney still collecting a salary from Halliburton? Delay accepting "donations" from the Indian gaming industry? Fressh off the press...Does Rumsfeld still have stock holding in the company that makes Tamiflu? http://money.cnn.com/2005/10/31/news/newsmakers/fortune_rumsfeld/?source=aol_quote

Get real! Who gives a #@$% what Micheal Moore has in his stock portfolio!? I hear he also likes to listen to Ted Nugent and enjoys films starring Charlton Heston.

Are you sure it wasn't MUTUAL FUNDS? A lot of times these reports are just B.S. from mutal fund ownership. They ding both the left and the right on on this crap. We shouldn't support baseless attacks. We are Republicans after all,, right?

Testing, testing. This is a test of the Karl Rove Fax Machine talking points.

In 2001, early in Bush's first term, Karl Rove had a meeting with the board of Intel about pending legislation. Rove was at the time, the holder of over $100,000 in Intel stock. This meeting not only did not meet any ethical standards set for the executive branch, but possibly illegal. You dumbass Bush supporters don't even know the event happened, and you've still got hairs up your butts about Michael Moore. Pathetic.

Wait a minute -- Michael Moore owns Halliburton stock, and still makes a movie levelling huge criticism against this company... and you think this is hypocrisy?

To me, it's pure, selfless bravery. Who gets hurt if the stock falls? Among others, Michael Moore. But he's willing to take the financial hit rather than let the injustice go unnoticed.

Meanwhile, the vice-president of the US continues to take a salary from Haliburton and to watch his options skyrocket based on political and military decisions he makes claiming that he has no financial self-interest in the war.

How is Moore the hypocrite?

I keep looking back here to see if any of you conservatives can document ANY lie that Michael Moore has made. Even the one you thought was a lie -- that the administration allowed Saudis in the air 2 days after the tragedy when all air traffic was grounded has proven to be true. Here's a clue for you: Moore isn't a liar because you say he is. He's a liar only if you can show that he's a liar with documentation. Let's have it, bigmouths.

Just out of curiosity, why is "liberal" in quotation marks?

Ah, "liberal" hypocrisy.

A new book reports on the extensive stock holdings of "liberal" favorite Michael Moore.

Are you saying that Michael Moore isn't really liberal, or hypocrisy isn't really liberal?

Lonewacko- these nitwits seem to think you're a Bush bot. You guys should grow up and realize the whorish nature of the vast majority of politicians of both major parties.
*****************************************************

You're wrong. Michael Moore is not the left's favorite liberal. Moore is the right's favorite liberal. Once the hype over his movie was dead the left moved on. But go ahead, make some more fat jokes. It never gets old does it?

Ther very high response level to this post by lefties contradicts your assertion.

How can you as a conservative keep the walls of "unreality" up while the hypocracy within your own party is so painfully obvious. Here's an example: Bush lied, over 2000 Americans died an over 200 billion dollars were wasted - and still counting.

Clinton lied and Repulicans wasted time and money impeaching him. No one died.

So where are the "solid moral values" crowd? They're either trying to shrug off or justify Bushes actions OR they are calling attention to minutia like Michael Moore's stock holdings.

The lack of consistentcy from the party that isn't supposed to like moral relativism is inexusable. You, sir, are the hypocrit.

If he only got a 15% profit out of Haliburton he needs to fire his analyst. Cheney's Halliburton stock options have risen 3,281 percent in the last year.

No, real hypocrisy whould be those who use the platform of "family values" to cover up their own deviancy:

Moore said that the Bush administration lied and manipulated intelligence to get us into war. Moore said that the first priority of the Bush administration after 9-11 was to protect Saudi citizens. Moore said that there was going to be unprecidented war-profiteering in the Iraq war. In "Bowling..." he said our gun violence wasn't a product of the number of our guns or the ownership of guns, but it was a product of our fear. Are any of these Moore statements "lies?" Do any of these points imply any kind of hypocracy? Wise up, conservatives. Moore is one of the few people who has been telling you the truth for years now.

Wow, wingnuttery reaches even new lows... if you're going to criticize Moore, do it for one of the many stupid things he does, not for something he openly admits to.

He owns stock so he can attend shareholder meetings and make a fool of himself and/or the company. This is well known.

"Liberal hypocrisy" ain't nearly as bad as the right's blatant stupidity.

You're wrong. Michael Moore is not the left's favorite liberal. Moore is the right's favorite liberal. Once the hype over his movie was dead the left moved on. But go ahead, make some more fat jokes. It never gets old does it
?

There is nothing hypocritical about owning stock. What IS hypocritical is to hold one side to standards not applied to the other.

You seem to be implying, Lone Wacko, that the conservatives have no hypocrites among them.

In the interest of what i'm sure is your overweening sense of fairness and decency, would you seek to also uncover such hypocrites among your own ranks?

Any logicians out there know what "ad hominem fallacy" means?

Not really hypocricy...a lot of investigative journalists do the same thing.

It's done for a specific reason. Stockholders are privy to information that, although not secret, is much harder to track down otherwise.

I suspect that one of Moore's first moves when he begins to investigate a company is to by a few shares of it in order to get his data more quickly.

Plus he's really fat.
Too bad we can't get someone "in shape" who'll question the "evilness vs. incompetence" of our leaders.
I'm workin' out like a fiend, so that I can get the role.

Why shouldn't he profit from repugnican abuse? That is assuming it is even true...seeing the "reputation" of the author I am sure that even the simple words like the, and, a are all lies as well.

And Dick Nixon started the EPA. People are
inconsistent, go figure.

BTW, have you heard that Bush has a 35% approval rating, that the majority of the US consider the outing of a CIA agent to be a serious matter, and that there are over 2032 dead US soldiers that can be attributed to a lie?

Yours truly,

Necromancer
