Anna Gorman and Nicholas Riccardi of the Los Angeles Times offer an article with a title more appropriate for an (explicit) advocacy publication: "Arizona was once tolerant of illegal immigrants. What happened?" (link). The article is just as bad, as Gorman and Riccardi present supporting massive illegal activity as a tolerant, mainstream default state and those who oppose it as somehow outside the mainstream. Neither of them are real reporters; doing real reporting on this issue would involve following the money and pointing out that the position they present as mainstream is actually a result of political corruption. Rather than supporting our laws as they were hired to do, politicians put their own interests first, whether it's obtaining race-based power or supporting those companies that donate to their campaigns in expectation that they'll look the other way on massive illegal activity.
