Sean Hannity smeared by undercover FBI "agent provocateur" (Hal Turner, Max Blumenthal, Amanda Terkel)

According to his lawyer, Hal Turner - a white supremacist, blogger, and some kind of radio host who's currently charged with making threats against public officials in two states - was an FBI-trained "agent provocateur" from 2002 to 2007 (link).

It would certainly be interesting to see a list of what he was involved in at that time. One issue from 2008 was his claim that Amero coins were being printed by the U.S. Except, what he claimed to have been produced by the Denver Mint was actually a "fantasy" coin produced by a private company for collectors.

Moving into the FBI time range, in January 2006 he was involved in a story about the DHS and safety deposit boxes.

And, even more interestingly, in June 2005, Max Blumenthal offered "Hannity's Soul-Mate of Hate" (thenation.com/doc/20050620/blumenthal) about Turner's supposed past friendship with Sean Hannity. In March 2008, Jason Linkins of the Huffington Post revived that smear here, and in June of this year Amanda Terkel of ThinkProgress did the same. At least in the Linkins case (IIRC), Turner tried to fan the flames on his site; whether he did the same in 2005 isn't known. I doubt whether the FBI would have been involved in that in some way, but it would certainly be interesting to know what they thought of it and whether there was any communication with Turner regarding it.

UPDATE: See this for another thing Turner was involved in at the time.
