Arrest made in Tancredo UNC protest; Goode arrestees weren't from UNC-CH; SDS link; now it's farce

University of North Carolina police have arrested Morehead University student Haley Koch with disorderly conduct in relation to the fracas at Tom Tancredo's UNC appearance of a couple weeks ago (link).

Regarding the "farce" from the title, you can see a picture of Koch here, "dress[ed] in the traditional garb of the Himba tribe during a one-day visit in Namibia while on her travels in southern Africa". And, I believe but haven't confirmed that twitter dot com/haleykoch is her; whoever that person is she describes herself as a "radical queer femme-inist artist activist with a love of social justice and sparkles". She's made her updates private, and that page links to unityconference.webs.com which in turn has a UNC email, as well as a heartbreaking photo.

And, some of those involved were apparently from the Students for a Democratic Society, as they offer a press release in solidarity at [1].

Meanwhile, one of the SDS' finest offers "Protesters were right to shut down the racist Tancredo" [2]. If I thought that article could influence anyone I'd show all the ways she's wrong or lying, but I don't need to bother.

Note also that according to the article all six arrested in relation to the later Virgil Goode appearance were not from UNC-CH.
