Michael Lacey underwriting Mexican government-linked ACLU suit against Arizona (Village Voice Media)

Village Voice Media - publisher of that and other alt-weeklies - will be underwriting the cost to the American Civil Liberties Union for an upcoming lawsuit challenging Arizona's new immigration law (link). In this case it appears to be personal: the Chairman and CEO and of Village Voice Media (Michael Lacey) and its Executive Editor (Jim Larkin) were arrested in conjunction with reporting they did on Joe Arpaio and have had other run-ins.

This should taint all their future coverage of this issue, and every time one of their papers writes about the Arizona law point out in comments not just that they're funding the ACLU's suit but that the ACLU is directly collaborating with the Mexican government (see their name's link above).
