Melanie Morgan of Move America Forward offers "Why I stormed Sen. Specter's office" (link), describing her visit (along with JimRob from FreeRepublic) to Arlen Specter's office in regards to the stimulus plan; see this for the background.
Take a look at her description of the visit, and then ask yourself: what exactly was accomplished? The answer (aside from a little promotion for Morgan) was: absolutely nothing. Take a look at the video (skip the first three minutes of backlit rants). They were clearly outmatched and unprepared, and Morgan was needlessly confrontational before it was warranted. And, all they did was rant without asking questions designed to discredit their adversaries.
Now, if she'd gone there with some tough, adversarial questions and had politely asked someone who should have been able to ask them on video, then she would have had an impact.
