Law professor Steve Diamond says a source close to the campaign says so. Unfortunately, until he gets someone to go on the record or at least a second source it's not really worth much right now.

Whether he maintains those contacts today is less important than their length and intensity over the years. Since an applicant for the highest security clearance is not to be granted a presumption of innocence in regard to that pursuit,such affinities disqualify. Since it is the electorate giving the clearance, there is no question of 'guilt by association' as the voters as such, do not accuse or indict, but trust or distrust.
