Iowa Democrats oppose illegal immigration?

The weakest spot of the Bush administration and of the GOP leadership is their support for illegal immigration. Perhaps the Dems have finally realized that:
DES MOINES, IA - Legislative Democrats today are calling for steps to curb illegal immigration by holding corporate executives and employees accountable for hiring undocumented workers in Iowa.

A proposal backed by Democrats in the House and Senate seeks to impose fines and possible jail time for corporate leaders engage in unfair business practices aimed at exploiting cheap labor...

Legislative Democrats also are seeking to shut off state assistance, economic development grants or tax cuts to corporations proven to have hired illegal, undocumented workers.

Sorry boofugg, I do blame the politicians. And, can you imagine getting caught between the Mexican Army and the FBI (a la Waco) blasting at you with machineguns and tanks? One thing for sure, no American law enforcement organization would give a damn about our asses, hairy or not.

So, with all due respect, and your permission, I will fight the power with the pen and not the sword.

Dear LomaAlta:

Don't blame this border mess on the Democrats, and don't blame it on the Republicans either. Politicians are politicians and none of them can be trusted in a shithouse with a muzzle on. So, don't look to politics if you're looking for results.

You will only see results when people like you and I finally grow enough hair on our ass to saddle up and ride down to the Rio Bravo and take a stand.

Precisely. That has been my fear for some time. That the Democrats (although insincere and likely to be worse on open borders) will get out in front on this issue and ride it to the White House. The Governors of AZ and NM (both Dems) have declared border emergencies. Dear Arnie (who von't be back!)didn't have the courage to join them, thus, leaving it a Democrat issue.

Depressing.
