Mexican bishop in "hot water" over accepting drug money

Oddly enough, Reuters has placed the news that the bishop of Mexico's Aguascalientes accepted donations from drug runners in their Oddly Enough category.

The bishop says:

"You don't have to burn the money just because it's bad. It's better to transform it ... I've known of cases (where) it's been purified."

Our wacky funny friends from the south! We're also informed that:

Bishops in northern Mexico said earlier this year that the multibillion-dollar cross-border trade in cocaine, marijuana and amphetamines went against church teaching.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to have the same prohibition on massive illegal immigration.

Hey the mexican archbishop is a real great Red!..it would be odd if the government of mexico wasn't taking narcotics money most people inside that country do business that way, and all the people are members of some kind of narcotics gang, so what new?

Government spokesman Ruben Aguilar slammed Godinez's remarks at a news conference on Tuesday, telling reporters that "no one can allow organized crime to act with impunity, until Presidente Fox and his cohorts have skimmed their percentage off the top."

Seriously folks, why does this surprise anyone? The Catholic Church here in L.A. is a criminal enterprise, and the only reason Roger Mahony isn't in prison is because the DA hasn't gathered enough evidence (yet) to file an idictment. And let's not forget that the Church openly and actively encourages the breaking of our immigration laws, not to mention the abuse of its tax exempt status.
