15 N. Koreans Nabbed Crossing U.S.-Mexico Border

From this:

Fifteen presumed North Korean defectors who had settled in South Korea were arrested for trying to sneak into the U.S.

The Los Angeles-based Association of People From Five Northern Provinces said on Sunday it learned that 15 North Koreans were arrested by U.S. Border Patrol as they tried to smuggle themselves into the U.S. from Tijuana, Mexico. But the association's president Kim Ho-jeong added it remained to be confirmed whether the 15 really were defectors.

The 15, who are being held at an immigration detention center in San Diego, California, said they intended to seek political asylum in the U.S. after previously settling in South Korea. Kim Yong, the head of another defectors' association in Los Angeles, said that under U.S. law such individuals were usually deported.

"Yeah, there's no way any member of a group of North Koreans could posssibly have a valid refugee claim."

Maybe you missed this part:

"who had settled in South Korea"

See, to my way of thinking, if they're Koreans, and had indeed already "settled" in South Korea, which I guess means they found some sort of 'refuge' there, then it would seem to make a tad more sense for them to stay in South Korea.

Right?

Even in a Europe that seems bent on demographically destroying itself, this sort of "cherry picking" asylum seeking is looked at quite skeptically these days.

Yeah, there's no way any member of a group of North Koreans could posssibly have a valid refugee claim. They're obviously just here to work, and send their money back home to... oh, guess they can't to that.

They're just here to do the jobs Americans don't want to do.

Too bad they're not Mongolians -- we could use another good Mongolian barbecue joint.
