About this site, and how to find what you're looking for

About

24Ahead.com offers no-nonsense coverage of topics such as immigration, national politics, media bias, and multiculturalism and we've been doing so in over 8000 posts since 2002.

The coverage leans somewhat to the "right" on many issues, but this site gives no quarter to Party hacks, no matter the Party. This is an archive/news and opinion/advocacy/activism site that occasionally does original reporting. Despite most of the entries being presented in sequential order, this is not a blog. We have a strong commitment to accuracy; if you see anything here that's factually incorrect, keep leaving comments until we issue a correction.

This site is also commited to an open dialog on issues. Unlike many sites, we don't delete comments except in very specific situations; out of over ten thousand comments only about five comments that weren't commercial spam have been deleted, such as one that purported to give someone's home address.

And, since there's more to life than news, politics, and immigration, there are occasionally lighter weight posts about local issues, celebrities, outdoors sports, music, and humor.

How to use this site

In the future we'll be adding additional sidebar blocks with pages discussing various topics. For now, there are two preferred ways to find specific content. Both are in the upper-right corner of each page.

* The search box performs a full text search of all the entries between September 2002 and November 19, 2008. You can put a term in quotation marks to search for a specific phrase. A search box provided by the new content management system will be provided in the near future that will cover all posts.

* The All Tags link shows the top tags used here. If you have Javascript enabled the window will open inside the current page, otherwise it will send you to a separate page. In either case, clicking one of those tags will open a "summary page" about a specific topic.

Summary pages consist of a summary at the top, followed by a list of the posts mentioning that topic.

Inside individual posts, a link to a summary page is indicated by a red "S", such as on the following link: Rod Blagojevich. Mousing over links to summary pages should bring up a small window with an excerpt from the summary, and clicking the link will lead to the summary page itself.
