.@DreamInLace: @disqus used to be an honest broker: they only removed actual spam but left the censorship (if any) up to site owners. I had them on my sites & recommended them to clients. Now they've gotten into the censorship business & I'd never use or recommend them.

.@disqus: someone just asked my what kind of comments I suggest. I suggest *against* you if they want to make a principled stand. I'll leave it up to them to deceive if they want to enable dishonest brokers. P.S. I helped get NYMag to drop LiveFyre. You're next.

.@disqus: I've left 10s of 1000s of #Disqus comments and I thought you were an honest broker so I recommended you to clients with #Drupal sites. I'm no Alex Jones fan, but banning him is akin to book burning. This isn't lib vs con, it's open debate vs authoritarianism.

AFAICT, @Disqus is one of the few social media-y companies that does things right. They just provide the service & leave it up to site owners to moderate or not moderate. They remove actual spam but AFAIK don't suppress dissent. Unlike, of course, #Twitter.

.@adamkraymond: I had to work to get a comment through the @LiveFyre and/or #NYMag filter, despite not containing Bad Words or Bad Thoughts. I'll bet @Disqus would help NYMag migrate for free to a system that actually works rather than a system that pisses readers off.

.@GMPaiella: suggest a switch to @Disqus to your boss. They might even help migrate you from @LiveFyre for free. #NYMag

.@msh200: last chance. Tell me who filed a bogus spam report with @Disqus & banned me from TheWire, or I'll use your name in my campaign.

@disqus: the phrase "examine *all* the externalities involved in immig." triggered your spam filter, which is pretty stupid.

@disqus: it worked without shortname for many months. I wasn't using your module, I just put the vars in the tpl file. Problem now solved.
