I'm not up-to-date on farming matters and I let McDonald's handle the food side of things. So, I'm turning making some sense of the issue of GMO food and seeds ("genetically-modified organism") over to you, especially as regards the links between Monsanto Corporation - one of the leading promoters of GMO seeds - and our new Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack.

Yesterday, Anne Kornblut of the Washington Post offered "Staff Finds White House in the Technological Dark Ages" (link), a story presumably designed to appeal to tech-savvy Obama supporters:
If the Obama campaign represented a sleek, new iPhone kind of future, the first day of the Obama administration looked more like the rotary-dial past... "It is kind of like going from an Xbox to an Atari,"...
Earlier today, a mass therapy session for illegal immigration supporters was held in Washington DC, as hundreds of them marched to the headquarters of Immigration and Customs Enforcement whereupon they banged on drums, waved banners, and conducted mock ceremonies attempting to "cleanse" the building. No, really: "Immigrant Advocates Call for End to Raids" by NC Aizenman, link.
None of those named...
From this:
In violation of Barack Obama's promise to run an open and transparent transition to the next administration, an associate of convicted document thief Sandy Berger has been secretly meeting with far-left groups under the auspices of the Obama-Biden Transition Project to develop a range of pro-U.N. policies. These include placing "more [U.N.] blue helmets on U.S. troops" and forcing the...
Judicial Watch has obtained two letters sent to Rod Blagojevich; one from Barack Obama himself, the other from his transition team. PDFs at that link.
Unfortunately, both appear to be form letters sent out after the National Governors Association on December 2, 2008 in Philadelphia. The one from Obama pawns off all contact on Nick Rathod. The other letter is from Valerie Jarrett, John Podesta,...
The Politburo no doubt had internal investigations, and so too does the incoming Barack Obama administration. They've just released a five-page PDF completely clearing everyone of everything; cached copy here. It includes the news that Obama was interviewed as part of the investigation:
These accounts were communicated to the Office of the United States Attorney in interviews that were conducted...
... domain name was set up for the Obama transition.
As I know from registering non-.gov domain names, if your first choice is taken you can always think up dozens of other possible names. But, apparently the Obama team really wanted that domain name, and also apparently the permanent federal government really wants some change.
Barack Obama's change dot gov is, per the Government Services Administration, legal. A few have speculated that it might be operating outside the letter of the law due to the fact that it's hosted at the private Blue State Digital and has non-governmental privacy policies and the like.
The GSA statement (below), while persuasive, is just their opinion and it still seems a bit odd to have a .gov...
Tyche Hendricks of the San Francisco Chronicle offers "Stanford professor leads Obama immigration team" (link), with the news that Tino Cuellar - law professor at Stanford University - has been named as one of the two co-leaders of Barack Obama's transition team dealing with immigration. In the article, he's praised by John Trasvina of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund,...
