Ruben Navarrette smears, misleads about Lou Dobbs (Enrique Morones almost co-writer) - 11/17/09

Ruben Navarrette of the San Diego Union Tribune offers an anti-Lou Dobbs editorial (mercurynews.com/opinion/ci_13808533), which includes this in the middle:

Barack Obama praises **Enrique Morones** - 07/14/08

Even I am shocked by how far Barack Obama is willing to take Hispandering and support for illegal activity. Before reading the script for his speech to the National Council of La Raza convention (the one where he accused his own government of terrorizing people), he praised open borders loon Enrique Morones (link): Obama, at the podium, had just thanked two top NCLR officials before his speech when he thanked Morones of Border Angels, a group that stocks desert water stations and lobbies intensely for immigrant rights, often with a theatrical flair and a blunt style that has drawn the ire of...

Richard Marosi/Ari Bloomekatz/LAT enable illegal immigration (San Diego fires) - 10/28/07

As a cost-saving move, let me suggest that the Los Angeles Times outsources their coverage to the Western Growers Association, the Mexican government, or the Democratic Party. That way, "reporters" Richard Marosi and Ari Bloomekatz can achieve their true calling of selling used tires, and there'd be little difference between the outsourced version and that which they provide in "Evacuations raise deportation fears" about illegal aliens and the San Diego wild fires (link). In fact, their article is remarkably similar to the other instances of this new subgenre, such as that from Leslie...

Illegal aliens steal evacuee supplies; NPR's Amy Isackson promotes serf labor - 10/25/07

Six illegal aliens were allegedly caught stealing supplies in San Diege meant for wild fire evacuees. They brought trucks and came back for more, and one of their group said they were paid to do so. While there might be a somewhat understandable explanation, such as they were taking them to an ad hoc shelter somewhere else, I suspect that if there were such an explanation we would have heard it. If there isn't such an explanation, it shouldn't be surprising that some of those who've shown no respect for our immigration laws would show no respect for fire victims. Meanwhile, Amy Isackson of...

Gil Cedillo, Peter Schey, LULAC, MALDEF, more at Migrant March II - 02/05/07

Migrant March II is a caravan driving from San Diego to Brownsville and back in order to push for immigration "reform". Those leading it are Nativo Lopez and Enrique Morones (associated with San Diego's Democratic Party). Also along for the ride is a Mexican official.

Enrique Morones, Nativo Lopez on "Migrant March II" - 02/02/07

From this: Dozens of immigrant-rights advocates will depart today from San Diego to drum up support for immigration reform. Called Migrant March II [aka "Second National March for Immigrant Rights"], the caravan of mostly Latino leaders will drive to Brownsville, Texas, and back, meeting along the way with community leaders and residents in cities along the border, organizers said. Exactly one year ago, advocates led a similar caravan to push their agenda for comprehensive immigration reform that includes a path to legalization for the nation's estimated 12 million illegal immigrants....

AP ignores Peter Schey Mexican government links (Border Human Rights Working Group) - 08/24/06

An AP story about a recent crash fails to note a key affiliation of one of the groups mentioned. If you've never heard of the CHRCL, you might think they're just an ordinary "human rights" group: A border rights coalition asked federal officials Wednesday to suspend Border Patrol high-speed chases pending a review of a Yuma-area rollover two weeks ago that resulted in multiple deaths. The letter from the Los Angeles-based Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law also asked Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and the heads of Customs and Border Protection and the Border...
