Low-wattage radio, TV hosts say dumb things about Mexicans and swine flu; leftwing attacks in order to support illegal activity

Jason Linkins of the Huffington Post offers "Swine Flu A Mexican Immigrant Conspiracy: Conservative Media (VIDEO)" (huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/30/swine-flu-a-mexican-immig_n_193707.html), linking to a Media Matters for America video apparently containing instances of conservative radio and TV hosts discussing the issue of Mexicans - specifically illegal aliens from that country - bringing the swine flu into the U.S.

At the same time, Ryan Powers of ThinkProgress offers "Conservative talker suspended after blaming swine flu on the ‘millions of leeches’ from Mexico" about Jay Severin making stupid comments that aren't absolved by containing a grain of truth (thinkprogress.org/2009/04/30/severin-immigrants-racist).

And, Fernanda Santos of the New York Times offers "Mayor’s Appointee Draws Fire for Mexico Blog Post" about a HuffPost contributor (and presumed "liberal") making borderline jokes at the HuffPost and then being forced to be contrite (cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/04/30/mayoral-appointee-draws-fire-for-mexico-blog-post).

Except for the last, all of these cases involve right-wingers. And, all of them involve people discussing the very serious issue of the possibility that the hundreds or thousands of illegal aliens who enter the U.S. each day might be infected with the flu.

But, all of them involve various degrees of idiocy. Unless their goal with these comments is to go on the Sean Hannity show and whine, they need to think ahead and realize that making false or offensive comments helps the other side.

This is in the assignment category because I'm urging you to immediately contact all the local and national radio hosts you can find and suggest that they discuss this topic, but they do so in a way that looks ahead to possible attacks by leftwing supporters of illegal activity like MMFA, ThinkProgress, and the HuffPost. Discussing this in a completely fact-based, sober fashion is a perfectly defensible position and one that can be used to expose sources like those listed as supporters of illegal immigration no matter the price.
