Jeanne Lambrew lies about uninsured (deputy director of Obama Office of Health Reform)

Jeanne Lambrew - University of Texas professor, former Bill Clinton aide, and a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress - has been named the deputy director of the Office of Health Reform for the upcoming Obama administration (link). Her biography is at [1].

She contributed a chapter [2] to the just-released book "Change for America: A Progressive Blueprint for the 44th President", which contains at least one lie:

In 2007, about 47 million Americans lacked health insurance

In actual fact, as Census figures show, millions of those are not Americans but are citizens of other countries, including those who are here illegally. To some, that might appear to be a minor point, but it really isn't. It indicates that Lambrew is not intellectually honest. If she were, she would have pointed out that a good percentage of those covered by her proposals should not be here in the first place, and that one way to reduce the numbers of those who'd have to be covered under her proposals is to reduce illegal immigration.

And, it also indicates that she's willing to lie to those who aren't that familiar with this issue. Discovering all the other things she "forgot" to mention is left as an exercise.
