January 20 is now the "National Day of Renewal and Reconciliation"

As one of his first acts, president Barack Obama has issued a proclamation on Whitehouse dot gov proclaiming that January 20 is our new "National Day of Renewal and Reconciliation". Unfortunately, what exactly that means isn't explained, although the presumed subtext doesn't sound too good at all. The page whitehouse.gov/blog/a_national_day_of_renewal_and_reconciliation quotes Abraham Lincoln and then "call[s] upon all of our citizens to serve one another and the common purpose of remaking this Nation for our new century".

More on this if it becomes known.

Is the National Day of Renewal and Reconciliation going to be a government holiday? If so, then I'll get the day off from work!
